B.P.R.D. Standard Issue Revolver

Despite the implausibility of it as a design, it's cannon - so going to be taking a crack at putting together a B.P.R.D. standard issue revolver.

My first thought was the seems quite oddly proportioned, so rather than looking at airsoft or cast guns as a base I had a rummage through some old console accessories and found this

Even has the hole in the bottom to sink a lanyard ring in to and should serve as a pretty decent base.

Main queries -
1) What would be the best hinge to use on the opening mechanism, and how would people go about allowing the gun to latch closed?
2) Where would people go to get an Enfield style lanyard ring?

I like this design, despite it's oddness and implausibility. Attached are a few of my 'reference' pics.

I'm not sure how the mechanism would lock. I think you'd have to have some kind of latch inside the forward half, which would interact with the back half and or hinge.

Your arts & crafts store or hardware store may have fittings that could double as the lanyard ring. Or eBay.

Thanks for the refs Mike j.!

Different pistol to Kate's (or 'Abe's Monster killer) being a 6 shot revolver rather than a lower powered higher rate of fire gun, but that said it's a lot more practical (and would probably be the easier build).

Managed to track down a few alternatives to the lanyard ring, ring eye bolts and some motorcycle fairing bolts (although these have a D-Ring I'd need to switch out), will order a few different ones as they're only cheap and see which fit best when they arrive.
