I'm thinking it's a jumbo/super stretch spandex or maybe a two way stretch poly as opposed to a regular spandex. I agree with the zipper idea, as with those inserts it would completely negate the stretch of the material.

I'm checking various hiking boot manufacturers like Asolo, Merrill, Vasque, etc. But, I wonder if just taking the pic that shows the boot toe (wish there was a pic that showed the entire front toe in detail) to REI and seeing if any boots match it, or just showing it to one of the shoe guys there. They are usually pretty knowledgeable there. As far as wishing goes, the side view of the sole would help immeasurably!

I've got some links to a few pairs of boots- I searched for a lighter weight trail shoe, ones that didn't have the metal eyelets. While I haven't yet found the exact toe, got a couple close ones-

not a big fan of the soles on caps sneaker boots, do like the red spat like idea as it was my thought as well long b4 this pic surfaced, but i dunno, the tread should be bigger, more combat style, just mho

I can only assume it's close to the front, in terms of design. Cap's costume is pretty symmetrical, but I should know one way or another pretty soon- I have a friend who works at the studio where the Avengers is being filmed, and I asked them to check the back for me

I like the new costume, especially the new helmet/cowl. I was wondering if anyone had any better pics of the cowl from the front? I'm working on a pep model of the new helmet and need better reference pics. This is what I got so far.

Yes!! That is absolutely terrific!! And also awesome that it's a legit special forces boot. Forces don't get much more special than Captain America and the Avengers!

The toe looks slightly modified- Cap's boot has an extra bit of rubber on the toe, almost like automotive rhino lining.

Looks great, but if I may add, it seems as you have a flair in the back, looking at the photos it seems his avengers helmet has no flair to it at all


Great job on the Boot I.D, seems with the boot going to have to be built from the ground up, it would be easier using the shoe base, as the rest of the boot is custom.

The sole is the same, but I don't think the boot is the same. It will definitely work though. I think the boots were probably custom made.

I agree I think everything for these marvel films are custom made, but they may have used it as a base or a stepping off point.

It's still nice to get a base to which we can build onto. I'm still convinced it's a heavy spandex suit with a screen printed design.
