Avengers Movie SPOILER Thread

I've seen it twice now.

In the beginning, Pepper Potts is asking Coulson about someone, I didn't catch the name, but his reply is something about her moving to Portland, I think.

Anyone catch that? Not a big deal, just curious.

They never give the name, just a celliast from Portland.

Re: The avengers what did you think?

All cleared up. Nothing to see here. :)

Oh he is alive, there is way too many hints that it was a fake. The face scan to open some door, the card convo between Hill and Fury and of course the "face-trace" comment.

The face trace comment was in reference to how they were searching for Loki, Hawkeye, and Dr. Selvig. They were using cameras all over the world in conjunction with face recognition software to try and trace their location.

Black Widow just stole much of the show at times, it was crazy. ....and I don't think it was just because she was ScarJo (not that it didn't hurt).

I'm going to elaborate a bit more on what I liked about Black Widow, because I think this was a great example of a female action hero done right (which there isn't enough of!)

Like I said, I don't read the comics, so I didn't really know the character beforehand. Due to her name and her image I had assumed she had a "superpowers of seduction" thing going on. I was pleasantly surprised that being female was an important part of the way she operated, and that it had nothing to do with sex appeal--instead, she relied on her enemies having preconceived ideas of a woman's emotional reactions and turned those preconceptions on their heads.

For a lot of female action heroes, it seems like they will either really ramp up the sex aspect, OR make her "one of the guys." Black Widow avoided both of these.

Took my family to see it... EPIC! Loved everything about it.

Glad to see Pepper in there other wise it might seem like they were trying to cut a corner.

I also loved how all the Avengers got really good story points. I thought Hawkeye and Black Window were just going to be filler material characters but they we great characters.

The length of the movie was perfect. I felt like I was getting a lot of movie but yet none of it dragged.

The humor and ensemble cast were very Joss Whedon.

Hulk moments were some of the best. Loki getting whipped around like a rag doll and the cheap shot on Thor still has me smiling.

Quite possibly the best superhero movie I have ever seen. Amazing. I almost started screaming when I saw Thanos at the end. Really funny too. Completely worth my two hour wait!!!

Joss Whedon is the only writer capable of writing women properly currently, anywhere.

But he's a ****ing ******* for killing Coulson.

But he had to, and he's dead.

Still irritated by the "400% of capacity" thing though. No such thing.

Dude, forget the ballpark, this one knocked it out of the ****ing solar system!

I absolutely loved it. I have too many thoughts buzzing through my head to put them down coherently... but to those who're nitpicking, those things you're talking about were explained if you pay attention. Just sayin'. ;)

I'd love to see Giant man in the next flick, maybe have him tinker around and build ultron and vision and have ultron be the baddie for the third film.

I also hope they have Adam Warlock in Avengers 2. I doubt they'll have Death in it but if they do, I'm sure she'll be an Alien or from Asgard or something.

I can't wait to see this movie again.

It's like Transformers if it had talent, likable characters, great writing, and the title characters were the stars of their own freaking show.

This was the first movie I saw with my whole family in quite a while, and we used to see a TON of movies together. It takes a lot for them to get invested in movies like this, but after the moment where Loki was berating Hulk, my Mom and Dad were roaring with laughter with my Dad leaning over his knees. I've never seen anything like that before. As for me? Not since the Bourne Ultimatum have I ever laughed so hard at a moment I was not expecting.

I loved it.
