Avengers Movie SPOILER Thread

Well that went by a lot faster than 2.5 hours. Not bad, but I didn't have to change my pants after seeing it. Very comic-booky, but not in a bad way.

On the other hand, Whedon killed Phil. Figured that was coming for months. I was hopping Whedon wouldn't be that predictable for once and give that schtick a break but sadly no.

Incredible is not a good enough assesment for this movie. It just blew me away. Not really from Cap's pov like we were told.

I went to the Marvel Marathon....13 hours nearly kicked my butt. The seen with the Hulk and Loki got such a crowd reaction that I couldn't hear what he said. Judging by some of the comments hear, I think I know what it was. The Hulk really stole his scenes.

My one complaint....the final battle reminded me of Transformers 3.

I was hoping that Thor would take Coulson to Asgard to put him in the healing room.
My one complaint, how could they kill off Coulson????? I loved that guy! That was a poor move on Whedon's part.

no i dont think the red skull is any where near thanos in that short clip. seen the movie 4 times never noticed it. and saw that last scene 3 time again just now and there is nothing that looks like red skul. there is only thanos and that other guy :p

who is the other guy that is speaking

The Chitari leader, I think the one that gave the mental slapping to Loki back at the beginning of the movie when he was using the spear to talk to him.

Ok man that was freaking hilarious!!!

Just saw the movie, totally awesome! Completely agree with this. Hulks fight so sequences some the show!

The final fight sequence with the panning to each hero was great. Thanos looked intense

I did the Marathon too, and the best part for me is when Hulk stiff arms Thor just standing there! The movie was amazing I enjoyed it and will be seeing it atleast 3 more times for sure!!

This was one of the best movies I've ever seen. All I want to do is go see it again. Fantastic performance by all and hulk was finally done right! Bravo!!!

didn't get his name :p i know he's something like a leader of loki's army and a puppet to thanos.

cause when thanos turns his head that guy almost ****s his pants :p

Re: The avengers what did you think?

I repeat, there is NO after-credit scene in the movie, ONLY a mid-credit scene. They are not adding another scene after a movie has already been publicly released internationally.

"They" were rumor-spreading fans, folks at Marvel Studios have made it very clear that no extra scenes will be added.

Then THE after credit scènes are ment for THE bluray cause there is something they are not telling US :p

FYI sit through ALL the credits to see the extra scene R.D.Jr. hinted about - its in there.

I loved it.

First let me say that I have never read the comics, so I only know these characters from the movies. And for me, pretty much everything just worked. So many great moments, and hardly anything to complain about. The only thing I felt was a bit off was how earlier in the movie, Hulk was completely out of control, and later, he was able to sort of function as part of the team. I buy that there could have been an explanation for this ... it just didn't come across in the film. Also how when the alien base was destroyed and all the aliens on Earth died/stopped working--up til then they had seemed to operate independently so that didn't make sense either. And the close-fitting jumpsuits that everyone on the flying aircraft carrier was wearing just made me think of Star Trek. But those are really minor things.

I have to say, I liked Black Widow a lot more after this movie than after just having seen her in Iron Man II. She felt like a much more real and complex character whereas before she basically struck me as a hot gymnast who was good at killing people.

Like I said, haven't read the comics so I know nothing about Thanos, but the reaction of about everyone else in the theater when he turned his head and you could see his face was enough to get me excited about what's coming next.

Yup. The usher who came in after the movie ended even complimented the 10 of us out of 200 that actually bothered to stick around for that bit. Totally worth it.

Just got out. Not a dull moment and easily the best superhero flick marvel has made with their imprint. "Puny God" :lol They finally made 'appropriate' use of these guys powers. It seemed like in a lot of flicks they adjust how powerful the heroes are to fit the story somewhat, but they really let it all loose in this one. Hulk totally steals the show as mentioned.

There is no Red Skull in the Avengers, case closed. And this is after 3 viewings, I can readily confirm that.

I loved it. It is crystal clear that Whedon not only respected the source material, but loved it. Hulk absolutely stole the show. Loved the numerous one liners in this film. Cap's flying monkeys comment made me laugh more than it should have.

I'm definitely going for a second viewing this weekend.

Tony Stark did refer to "life models" early on. Could that have been a life model of Coulson? That would fall in line with something Nick Fury would do.
