I just hope Joss Whedon will direct any sequels, I think he had the formula down pretty much perfect, I would hate to see someone else come in and spoil it, anyone remember X-men 3? lol

If Disney's produced 4 Pirates movies with a 5th in the works, you better believe they're going to have Marvel greenlight more than just 3 Avenger movies
I'm fairly certain Joss will get the gig given the box office.

As we noted yesterday, the film shattered numerous box office records including biggest opening weekend for a superhero movie in the U.K. and the biggest opening ever for Latin American markets, including Mexico and Brazil. At this rate, The Avengers is likely to gross $350-400 million by Sunday, boosted by its premiere in China and Russia this weekend.
The 3D film will open at midnight Thursday in North America, where it's expected to open upwards of $150 million, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Based on preliminary tracking, some box office observers estimate the movie will finish the weekend with a global gross north of $500 million, if not closer to $600 million.
UPDATE, MAY 2: Deadline claims Avengers "could close in on $160M when it opens in North America this weekend and $425M when it debuts in Russia and China for a possible total near $585M through Sunday."
Like alot of people who saw it in the UK I'm going to see it again ,but this time in 2D. I have to say it was one of the most well balanced ,entertainingly thrilling and lol films I have seen in a long time ,and it well deserves all the praise thats been heaped upon it. The most accurate summary I read is that it is Marvels "Oceans Seven" (not eleven, at least not yet anyway).
And all you lucky people in the States WILL be getting the double end of credit scenes for certain.

I saw it on Monday, and absolutely loved it. The Marvel Studios movies have, for me, been massively better than any of the ones produced by other studios.
As for the "Mewling Quim" line mentioned earlier by other people, that was one of the highlights of the film for me. Quim is definitely my favourite cuss word.

Ok so whats with the Black Widow in this film? all she does is get scared or cry!
SO when we meet her she's tied to a chair (Nice I know) and we all know she puts on an act and looks scared and intimidated.
Then a similar moment when Banner yells "Stop lying to me" she ****s a brick and looks frightened.
The next is when Loki has his verbal spew and she pulls the tear act again
and lastly after her first encounter with the hulk she is sitting down scared.
So I guess the first scene makes sense aswell as the Loki scene but I'm confussed as to why the other scenes were included. My only guess is to maybe create confusion around her emotions or to show she is a cunning lying person that still has emotions?
Im just slightly confused about the character now.

So, those 2 and a half hours just.....flew by, i must say I'm hard on superhero films. but they nailed EVERYTHING.
It was the most amazing spectacle I've seen in awhile, the story almost never slows down and the writing for each character and their dialog is perfect.
also, there are two ending scenes. stay for BOTH, you won't be dissapointed

Thanos appears with The Red Skull by his side. They are both looking down on Planet Earth with Thanos smiling, stating that they underestimated Earth.

no i dont think the red skull is any where near thanos in that short clip. seen the movie 4 times never noticed it. and saw that last scene 3 time again just now and there is nothing that looks like red skul. there is only thanos and that other guy

She was definitely putting in a show but when it came to banner, she obviously knew his file. She can deal with Cap and Iron Man, but Hulk is almost unstoppable. She knows that he is something she can't fight and I'm sure for a master assassin, that terrifies her. I mean look how he literally tore the helicarrier apart chasing her, nothing she put between them even slowed him down.
