As Astro said, I think when Cap went back to Peggy, he lived in an parallel universe, where he could take an active part & combat against Hydra etc.....He knew the time/date that he jumped back, so he returned to his original time-stream/universe as he still had his quantum suit & time strap

...dunno

You know one thing that back to the Future of right? (And endgame doesn't even address)

In endgame, it's a time AND SPACE machine. They aren't only going through time, they are placiing themselves elsewhere

I got a heads up on that from a friend that saw it before me. It was great, I was right out the door and out the car park while everyone else sat and stared at the credits.

There was rather a lovely subtle little audio moment, though. At the very end of the credits, as the music fades, you faintly hear the sound of a hammer beating metal, slowly fading as the lights come up. It's the exact sound of Tony constructing the Mk 1 Iron Man suit in the cave in 2008. A very subtle, extraordinarily clever and very, very poignant of the journey coming full circle at its end. Beautiful.

But the moment, he disrupted the past, he would exist in another universe.

Maybe the suit would allow him to cross back, but now we're stretching it. (I know, I know. It's a movie about infinity stones and time travel)

YES!! EXACTLY!!! I thought thanos wasn’t going to be forced to go back in time. When I saw him dusted the first thing they came to mind was... “whatto....” big plot hole

Not the same Thanos... the 'alternative timelines' explanation of time travel that the Ancient One gives Banner means that the Thanos who was dusted isn't actually a past version of 'our' Thanos (who dies when Thor cuts off his head early in the movie). The Thanos who eventually gets dusted (and his whole timeline) really only spring into being when he learns about the 'future' (actually prime timeline) and the location of the Infinity Stones via the link between 'our' Nebula and his. At least that was my take on the way it works. I could of course be utterly confused! :D

I'm gonna guess (because need didn't age) that they we're both vanished. So the emotions weren't that ned hadn't seen him in five years (like Cassie) but that they went through something incredibly scary

Yeah, I went for the thought he had vanished too, which explained why they were back at the same point in their schooling and age wise.

The way I see Cap is pretty simple. If you look at just HIS life it is a straight line. He went missing in 1944 or 1945, was frozen until 2011, he is thawed out and lives in present day time. Sees Peggy in Winter Soldier but nothing is ever said about who her husband was. Goes back in time and marries Peggy and lives out his life. He was ALWAYS Peggy's husband. That is the way that time unfolded. For Peggy in 1950 or so Steve shows up, explains what happens and that yes his past self is frozen in ice but don't worry about it :) It is essentially a loop. I think Steve may do some covert work but honestly in my book he knows how the future is going to unfold. Let him retire, the man deserved it :)

When did Agent Carter take place? Does it clock right for this?

Speaking of the TV shows...

It would have been cool to toss The Defenders and AOS team in the finsl battle-- just for a shot or two.

Agent Carter TV show was set in 1946. They played around with a love interest for her on the show but nothing was ever fleshed out about it. The one thing I did notice is that the guys who wrote Endgame wrote for that series so I think that this is NOT just a coincidence :)

I'm of the opinion that Steve went back, married Peggy, but stopped being Captain America whilst still working with Shield in some capacity.

By the time that timeline's Captain America was unfrozen, Steve had long retired and popped back to his original timeframe with the suit.

I'm not sure how it ties in with the handing over of the vibranium shield, i'm not sure. Perhaps Howard Stark created two.

My real question is: Where did Mjölnir go, as he didn't come back with it?

I suppose Thor or Odin could have called it back to them at some point.

Cap took mjolnir back to the moment that Thor took it.

And I guess he also put a stone back in Natalie Portman? I never saw the dark world....

I know. Just ONE shot of JJ or Daredevil would have been bonkers. Could you imagine the theatre?

Or hell....wolverine

That would have been epic. Any of the defenders (not Iron Fist, obviously) would work for me. Luke Cage could be very useful in that battle.

Did anyone see Big Bang Theory tgis week?

At the start they are all discussing which showing and version (3D/2D) they should see. Bernadette states she wants the 3D version so she can get up close with Thor's pecs.
Can't help but think a few people were disappointed by that when they got there!!

BTW, does this mean that guardians 3 is gonna be Asgardians of the Galaxy?
Probably not seeing how he posted this image.....
