Just picked up the Avatar issue of Cinefex magazine. Weta has a full page "Thank You" add with some great images of the guns on a faux "shipping manifest". The manifest is covered with a handful of what I am guessing are rounds for the guns - neat square shaped brass and composite future bullets! Am I correct? Have these appeared anywhere else?

Those rifles look top notch, and thank god for the film they stuck with live (blank) ammo and weapons. CGI is killing the fun, and you can't beat the reaction of the actors to a real firearm! I'd love to see their pistols fabricated, perhaps even in a working piece.

I'd love to have a few of these with a bow.
If I remember correctly, the arrowheads looked like a type of obsidian. Some were semi-transparent and different in color, such as dark purple or dark blue.

Don't forget the RDA Handgun! So pictures over here as well. While I'm a fan of the WASP we still need something for all the standard RDA soldiers out there.

That part is on your but I think it's a different part on some of the screen used guns.
The DVD Orange/Black gun has a different part but The white one in the rack has that part.
Wish I had some HiRes screen grabs!!

This is the sidearm I've been looking for! The top photo shows the gun with a scope or laser sight mount ("VICEGRIP") while the one in the screen cap is missing it. I live 15 minutes away from the Hollywood Arclight & Cinedome - think there's a point of going there for more pics? I don't know if I'll be able to do any better than those posted on the blog.
I'm still not sure if this sidearm is the same one Chicon & Sully used during the breakout when she cold-clocks the guard - haven't been able to find any video of those scenes. How about you guys?

I just got my "The Art of Avatar" - NO HUMAN WEAPONS!
We get a few pages of concept art for the AMP suit, the Dragon command ship and the Shuttles - and that is it.
Nothing about ANY handheld weapons, nothing about the ISV Venture Star, nothing about human costumes, nothing about graphic design, nothing about the mining vehicles or Hell's Gate or any of Weta's work - argh!
On the other hand, if you like preproduction concept art of the environment of Pandora, you'll love this book.

Length: 108 pages, approximately.
Dims: about 12" x 10" x 0.5"
Cost: $19.77 new from Amazon.

RR, I think that "Vicegrip" is the faux brand name of the 'holster.'
Pretty sure that's the same handgun that Chacon & all use in the jailbreak.
