Avatar AMP Suit Maquette

Blood-eee nora!!! I was gonna pass a bitchy remark or two about the price tag and lack of paperwork, but at that size, I think I'd have to eat my words. Thanks for the pics!

Lee it's okay buddy, there's no accounting for taste as they say, heh!

Agreed, this is awesome! Plus you get the added benefit of the average person seeing it... and actually knowing what it is. :)

I think its a great deal as far as size versus price goes. Looks great :thumbsup

Hi guys,

Thought I would add a few additional pics. I forgot to mention that the cab opens and you can better view all the detail added to the interior and of course the "seat back and harness" that was replicated from the Power Loaders in Aliens. I also liked the detail in Colonel Quaritch's "Wasp" Pistol.

Looks fantastic. Thanks for the pictures.

I wish I had the $ to get one. Currently my collection is the LOTR PF's (except for lurtz).
My next piece from SS is the Jack Sparrow PF to be followed by The Morgul Lord PF (both exclusive versions).

Congratulations on your new piece

I'm Looking forward to spooktacular!

Ken,

Its big, its heavy, expensive and takes up a considerable amount of room but I don't regret getting it for one second. I'm sure if one looks hard they could find a few tiny areas where they should have painted or added detail...I'm sure the real anal ones on the forum here will find things to nit-pick. But all in all its impressive as hell and I wouldn't touch a thing on it. My only tiny grip is no paperwork or certificate , no assembly instructions for the less skilled and I found a tiny hairline crack on a small part that I have since fixed good as new.

Hello TymerDC, congrats!!

What's your impression about this AMP Suit Maquette :confused

I can't wait mine!

UPDATE:

After viewing Sideshow's Assembly video I saw I overlooked one part how to correctly install the gun. There's a brass pin that inserts into the leg and supports the gun lower to the body. I simply readjusted the sling. In the pics you can see how I first installed the gun then adjusted the sling so it hangs with no slack but not tight. I used a clip to hold the sling in place so I wouldn't lose its position. I then took off the gun and adjusted the sling while off the AMP Suit. Be careful when adjusting the sling...the buckle is cheap resin and my first attempt snapped off the center of the buckle and I had to repair it. It took very little to break so do this slowly and without force. Why Sideshow couldn't include a metal buckles to the sling is beyond me given the price they charged for this. Once you have it adjusted then just re-install it to the AMP Suit. It looks alot better.

For a member who asked for more detailed pics of the cockpit interior. It was difficult getting a camera inside the cockpit to take decent pictures....I hope these help

Now if they only did the Avatar RDA Scorpion Gunship. That's one I'd buy!!! The Mattel toy is okay, but the detail on that AMP is awesome!!!!!!!!!!!

I'd keep my eyes open. I'm sure someone might do a diecast one.....perhaps Aoshima that offered an Aliens Drop Ship a couple years ago. Just don't expect it to be cheap.

Funny you mention the scorpion as i have the toy but am trying to find detailed cockpit images like these. These pics will do wonders for my toy amp suit upgrade. I'm sure a scorpion will be out by someone, is a bad idea to ignore all the neat vehicles in the movie.

According to the newsletter I just received from Sideshow , theres only 13 out of 500 of these AMP Suit Maquettes left. Just in case anyone is wondering.

I know I'm a little late, but congrats for the purchase and many thanks for the massive amount of pictures :thumbsup I'd love to get me a SS AMP, but it's a little too pricey for me (should I try to trade my D9 AG for one of these... :unsure). The only thing that bugs me about the maquette is the inaccurate addition of the sling. Do you think one could get rid of it and the AMP hand and attachment on the leg would still hold the gun?
