Suggestion Automatic reply for PM's to mods

I was wondering if maybe we could get some kind of automated reply if you send a PM to a mod. Just an acknowledgment "your PM has been received and mods will look at it when they get the time, relax, don't get your knickers in a knot" sort of thing

Mods know this is suggested because I for one did the knicker thing, and while ashamed, and sorry for it. It did make me think this would help a lot, both Mods and members.

I know Mods are extremely busy with our perceived problems, and when PM's are sent to them, It's usually at points when we are frustrated. So an automated message thing would surely stop follow up PM's and cut down on their workload.

I know where you are coming from and on the surface, your request makes sense. However, having an automated reply would only give a false sense of the staff having looked into your issue when it is actually still in queue. Basically an automated message would only verify that the PM system is working and nothing more. It is like those automated hold messages that tell you how important your business is then points out you have a 16 minute wait time. If your business was truly important, they would hire another service rep and not play that message, trying to placate you with words that aren't actually true.

Yeah, thats a good point Art, but knowing the PM system was working may be enough. I know When I have been frustrated and messaging mods, and I don't hear back I wonder if it even went through.

You must get countless PM's asking if you got previous PM? it could be just me having less of an understanding of the systems, and a lack of faith in computers.
