I started a Rios, grim reminder, mask from the first AOT game but never finished it. I picked it back up and am pretty close to being done with the sculpt so then I'm going to make a mould. I just want some criticism before I mould it. Let me know what you think. I added some AOT wallpaper pictures to go with pictures of my mask to compare. I will be starting Salem mask after this.

Looks awesome! My only critique would just be to probably elongate the eye slit just a bit more, but thats just me

Thanks for the reply. I see what you mean about the eye slit, I have been trying to work on them to get them right. Still tinkering around with it. After posting this I noticed some slight differences in the picture and changed some small things to make it more accurate. The top outer corner of the eye sockets were off so I made them better. You can really see the difference in the side profile pics of the eye socket. After changing it I am much more pleased with it now.

hmmm, looks really good. i think you might want to soften up the nose and cheek angles. they seem a bit too prominent.

The upper outer eyebrow looks too sharp, if both sides are the same.

If you could make the wallpaper transparent and overlay it you could compare everything.

Thanks for the comments and advice. Fett80 -I will definitely be doing a couple runs of the mask but not sure if I could sell them or how much but the first one is going to my big brother for his birthday this month. So I will be making a mould within this week so any further comments to make it as accurate as possible would be grateful. We always play 360 AOT together.
Terryr - I know what you are talking about for the upper outer eyebrow which I have already changed after I posted the pics. Overlaying the picture sounds like a great idea but I'm not sure how to do that. I don't have the best imaging software. I did the comparison pictures using just basic paint for Windows 7. Any tips on how to do it would be appreciated.
Xdmray - by prominent do you mean they are to sharp/crisp and need dulled down or to large and need to be slimmed/smaller?

There must be some free 'photoshop type' stuff out there. Is Paintshop still around?

You would overlay a copy of the wallpaper over yours and just erase it 50% or so, so you could see through it.

I am dead serious when I say I want that mask. You just did a absolutely fantasic job on the sculpting. Very accurate, the best out there without a doubt. Great job!

Are you gonna vaccuform it, fiberglass or rotocast?

Are you planning on making Salem next?

That looks great. I'd be interested in a price for one myself if you did a run. Only criticism I can make would be to downplay the gumline on the front a bit. The game pics make them a little more indistinct than yours I think. Tiny nitpick, still looks awesome.

Thanks for all the replies. It's greatly appreciated.
Fett80- I will probably be doing doing either fiberglass or some other resin. I like vaccuforming but I think it will take way from some of the detail. And after this I will be doing the original AOT Salem mask also. I will probably sell some after I make a few copies so I will definitely let everyone know when that happens.
RedDevilRabbit- I have seen those masks before when I've search for references on AOT mask. They are quite popular and the outfits look great. And did an awesome job on the photos.
Thanks for comments and criticism. I appreciate all of them and definitely take them into consideration which helps me critic different parts of the sculpt. I will be posting pics of the finished sculpt and moulding process also very soon.

Looking great! My only minor feedback would be to sharpen the edges on the "scars" on the right cheek / jaw area. I simply used a craft knife and literally cut the gouges out. You can also add some texture to make it look like cast iron metal by pressing the surface with some 100 grit sandpaper (texture stamp). Looks great when you paint and weather it.

I sold my custom sculpted mask and costume a while back.

Thanks for the comment Pandatrooper. Your sculpt looks awesome. It would have been hard to part with if you only made one. I've already done the sandpaper texturing on the top right forehead section which is a really good effect.

Just thought I would post an update. I added the flange/lip piece around the mask so I can start the silicone process. I'm only going by research on the internet at this point seeing how this is my first mould. If anyone can tell me before I start if I left enough room around the flange/lip piece I would appreciate it.
I also have taken some of the criticism given and made some small modifications to the mask. I changed the shape of the eye sockets and elongated the eye holes. I have trimmed down the cheek bones and nose a little along with a few other things. I hope that it looks better and if everything looks good then I'm going to start the silicone process. I have 1 gallon of brushable RTV silicone (I hope that is enough). I'm only thinking it should take 1/2 a gallon. Anyone know from experience please let me know. Then I will be doing a fiberglass outer shell. I will be updating the progress of the mask and hopefully be able to post the first pull with in this week.
Thanks for everyone commenting and watching. It's greatly appreciated!

Nice refinements!

Half gallon of silicone should be enough if you're brushing and doing a mother mold. Mine has about 3/4" thickness of silicone, then I used Smooth on Plasti paste for the outer mother mold / jacket.

I used Smooth on roto cast resin (they changed the name a while back) for the casting. Works great.
