Army of Two mask.... sorta.

I started working on this a few months ago with the intention of making the Army of Two mask but after seeing so many people doing the same thing i decided to give it my own twist. Basically just made it look more like a skull. I used Super Sculpy on top of a street hockey mask. Once i was done, i hit the clay with a heat gun to harden the surface so that i could brush on the RTV. I used Rebound 25 for RTV and Plasti Paste for the mother mold.

Heres the sculpt over the hockey mask.........

Here is the pull from the mold.........

And the painted version. Base coated in black then dry brushed in grey and highlighted with some silver.

I do play airsoft, so i plan on using it for that purpose. I just have to screen in the eyes and add a few more vents (somewhere).

Thanks guys!

Not to be outdone; my artistic 5 year old daughter wanted to show me how one SHOULD be painted...............

This is SUCH an awesome mask!! SO many different paint schme possibilities, I had a hell of a time choosing mine. Finally went with a battle worn AO2 inspired look, and I'm pretty pleased with the results. I had a street hockey mask, so I took the back plate from it, painted it to match and added straps. Fits really nicely too, snug and has about perfect vision. I'm REALLY lookin forward to using this for airsoft!

Then had to strap on a little gear for a couple pics too ;)

Hi. This is my first post on the rpf, and I realize that I am probably breaking some rule, though I've read the rules and tried not to break any.

That said, I also realize that this post is two years old; however, I had (what I thought was an original) an idea to use a hockey mask as a basis for a death eater mask from Harry potter. The only think I am confused about is your actual mold making process. I have a degree in visual art, so I am not a complete stranger to the process, but you seem to have quite a handle on this process. If you could be a little more explicit on your mold making process, that'd be awesome.

For example, how do you mold the back of your mask? Is it attached to the hockey mask? What material is it cast in?

Thanks

This is sweet! But i do have a question. Where do you get super Scuptly and what type of hockey mask did you use? Like do you have a picture? Regaurdless this was AWESOME! Good Job!!!:love
oh and how do you mold the back of your mask?
Thanks
Nathan

fantastic work! have you tested its strength point blank with your airsoft yet?

what did you cast it in? i really want to try something similar, but i'm really unsure of what materials to use to make it strong enough to survive repeated airsoft games.

also, where do you plan to get the punched steel mesh from? i've been unsure of a supplier for the stuff

Edit: ********** i fell for a necro-thread!!
if the last post is older than 6 months people, leave it ALONE!! it clear this thread was done 2 years ago :(

If you're talking about the mesh for the eyeholes, car speakers have a variety of types of mesh. Visit your local pic-and-pul.
