My friend and I have been play this game non-stop since it came out, we love co-op games and we love a co-op costume even more. Hopefully we'll have the whole costume completed by dragoncon, as follows here's pics of the clay molds all the way to painted product......
p.s. this is the first time we've ever casted or sculpted anything
Salem mask pics
we started with a styrofoam head, unfortuantley no one told us that sculpey ate styrofoam:confused
so then we decided to make cardboard masks that fit to our heads, then we fiberglassed them to reenforce them, then layed the clay over top
the first fiberglass jacket didn't hold up and warped once the resin heated it up, here's the first one out of the mold(on the right) and the second one(with the thicker fiberglass jacket). The great thing about the resin I'm using (smooth-on 320) is that if you heat it up and instantly cool it it will stay permeantley molded to the shape you just made(so if the mask doesn't fit your head just heat it up and mold it to the shape of your skull). Plus the resin is increadiably strong, we shot at it point blank range with 450fps paint ball gun/400fps airsoft rifle and it didn't get a scratch, which is perfect because we plan on going airsofting in this gear once we're done:lol

tell me what you think guys, I'll post more pics as the paint ups and costume progresses
