arkham knight research thread

A bit off topic but, Is there any red hood pdo out there for foam ?

I was thinking to try and make a convertible Arkham knight to Red hood .. :confused

bit of progress made tonight, resin to both biceps, resin/filler mix to shoulder , got first coat of laquer on the grenades, might add a second coat tomorrow,

ive saved what i think of as the best for last, attached the cast buckle onto the actual belt buckle and got 2 coats of anthracite grey car paint on, tomorrow im going to add some red to the depressed area, i know its not on the actual character but i think it will look better and i love red.

Really not happy this morning, I had hoped to show you the finished buckle but the red leaked through the masking tape and when I peeled it off I was left with two horrible patches where the red and grey had reacted and lifted with the tape

Guess I'll have to start again :'(

Before you start over from scratch, why not use a grey and red paint marker to fix the problem areas?
I do this with a lot of my props when the same thing happens and it comes out looking fine.
Just a suggestion.

ok guys i REALLY need your help, my gauntlets arrived courtesy of Fawbish, unfortunately though the dimensions are off (my oversight not fawbish), the overall length is perfect, the height and width however are too small and my bare arm is a very tight fit with the bear trap digging into my skin, i really need your suggestions to come up with a solution, i cant afford to get them done again.

desperately need a solution guys, the only thing i can think of involves alot of cutting and infilling.

As mentioned in my email I'm gutted about this pal. It would be difficult but my current thinking is making perfect straight cuts (much like I would in the program with the model) and I do the exact same cut in the model. I extend/somehow fill the extension parts (on the flat parts of the model (quite difficult with my current modelling experience) and then I print out the "extension" parts. These could then be added in with acetone, and would have to be smoothed over again. Thats all I can think of mate and it's not a great solution. Another issue is finding a flat plane on each side to do this on, and the detailed back section means this is hella difficult.

As you've said, the filling with bondo or something in the cuts might even be the easier option to extend each side. rather than trying to print out perfect extensions. Firstly you need to figure out exactly how much space you need mate? The ABS is quite tough, it will take some sanding so is that an option to sand away the inside more? You can gain a few mm either side (effort of course)

Really we should be blaming Bandiet as I only scaled his model. Completely kidding of course.

My thinking also, except I only want to increase the elbow end so may look at cutting straight down and infilling a triangular shape, I need a good 30mm at least on the width of the bear trap and about 20mm in the height, whatever I do its going to take time, add that to the fact my helmet is not even going be shipped until october and ive given up on having this ready for comicon now.

Grenades almost finished, havent decided if im going to paint the trigger or leave it bare metal. The trigger pivot pin is a bolt that I dremeled the thread off of and cut to length, the pin and ring pull is a piece of wire and rubber O-ring. Fuse boxes should be ready for lacquer coat tomorrow then final assembly tuesday. Also not sure if im going to bother with the writing on them seeing as they wont be leaving the pouches.

Fuse boxes look good mate
they are perfect mate, had to chamfer the edges a little bit to get the triggers on but I thought I might have to do that anyway. got them finished tonight, will post an update sunday evening, should have a lot done by then.
