I actually ran into Mark Hamil at a hobby store in LA a few years ago. Very cool guy, but very short. Certainly shorter than 5'9".

Yes, he sells the helmets seperately.

A relevant new fact about the helmet:
His helmet is now far mroe accurate as it is now no longer a hero shaped helmet made into a stunt like his first ones.. now, i believe starting with the ones taht come with the armor, they are from completely different molds, making it an accurate stunt. The cap back is totally different looking including a more tube shaped back swoop. THe ear caps are totally different, and the face is WAY sharper. deeper grooves on the chin, and that 5th tooth indent is present on this face. I will post pics of these things soon, but i don't have my camera with me in my dorm room

nope, i have the GF helmet and as you can see there are a lot of differences
- the AP stunt looks sharper while the GF borders looks softer
- the left eye "defect" is more evident
- the hears looks different but maybe it's just the cutting (and maybe - yes the - hears are from the GF molds)
- in the back there is not the small circle that every GF helmet has
- dimensions are differents

This sounds a lot like the "Movie FX" armor. Is this the same thing renamed?

Kind of OT but a buddy of mine just got his AP and I keep hearing everyone talk about how "thick" the ABS is on this set. It doesn't really seem it to me. If that's what defines "thick", the more accurate TE sets must be made of rice paper. Though I have never seen a TE in person myself, but I know when or if they become available again, I want a set to display.

TE widely used styrene which is a more flimsy and brittle plastic. TE did make some ABS sets however. AP uses ABS exclusively in .80 thickness and an industrial vac. machine (so I've heard) which explains alot of the sharper details. The thickness surprise of your friends armor could be explained in that he has never seen armor of a good quality pull where the plastic retains it's thick properties throughout the armor.

I've owned GT sets and the difference in the .90 that they used and the .80 AP use is evident.
