AP Stormtrooper Armor - The way it SHOULD be!

There's 2 troopers in this tiny box? Riiiight.

Oh my god, there is...

This box was so well packed. AP did that so I didn't get stung for shipping more than I needed to.

Take a look at this......

It's like one of those 3d puzzles, totally brilliant.

I mentioned that my TIE face was looking pretty bad these days, lots of kids picking at the face plate during photo ops. Look what he threw in......

It's a damaged face plate, damaged? really?

Oh, that little blemish on the cheek that could be easily sanded out and polished with Novus?

If he considers that a reject, it just goes to show the quality of the AP suits and helmets.

Thanks soooo much AP, if you happen to read this.

AP.....

Customer service- 10/10
Packing- 10/10
Price- 10/10
Product- 10/10

IF you're thinking about getting one, don't think, just do it :thumbsup

Cheers,

Kraig

Edit- What I thought was a blemish on the face plate, just dropped off, so I have no idea what it is.

Awesome Kraig. ...feel free to post some tips in my assembly thread once you get going. These kits are really a joy to build....are both going to be ANH? I'm seriously thinking of making my kit an ESB version....even though a few details are wrong....lots of ANH troopers out there but few ESBs....

Hey Jez,

The armour took 6 weeks from order to delivery, I'm very impressed. I think AP forms or has them formed per order, which I think is understandable. I'm surprised at how thick the suits are and also how sharp the details are considering the thickness.

Hey Kev,

I'm an ANH lad, these bad boys are to compliment my upgraded ANH Vader. The old FX suits with Gino/CRProps and SDS helmets don't cut it now and I want the buckets behind glass, where they really should be. I think the AP stuff is a great alternative.

"...feel free to post some tips in my assembly thread once you get going"

Will do :)

Cheers,

Kraig

Thanks Kraig,

IMO 6 weeks is an acceptable time to wait. So you're "retiring" two of your Stormtroopers - I just thought you were starting up your own army there.

Cheers

hehehe, I wish Mate :D

I am going to sell one but the other is going to become a Sandtrooper for my second 501st suit, I've ordered another AP helmet for that.
I think I've abused my best TK's for display purposes long enough, poor guys are looking a bit ragged now. I think they've done their tour of duty being in the elements.

My TIE face plate is a treasure in itself, it also has done it's tour, far more than the TK's as it's actually been in the field. It's something that will get it's own display with pics, but sadly HDPE REALLY doesn't hold paint as we all know :)
Considering it was a donation (postage paid by the donator etc) it will always hold a special place in my collection, I'm VERY proud of it.

Cheers,

Kraig

what did you paint it with dude? several light misting passes of black krylon fusion should have done the trick..

Hey :)

I did a couple of different paint jobs on it to see what would have the best adherence. I ended up getting some stuff called ESP which helps bond paint to almost anything, it's a wipe on wipe off thing. House painters use it to paint acrylic/water based paint over enamel/oil based paint. Then I went to an auto paint supplier and got paint with extra flex agent added and used that.

I've looked everywhere for Krylon paints here in Aus, but can't find it, it's a real bummer. If there are any Aussies reading this that know where I can get some, please send me a PM, thanks :)

OK,

First, I want to note that this is the first post I have made to the rpf in at least two years, probably much longer than that. (I actually did a search, and the last post from me still on the forum is from March 27, 2002.)

I believe the last post I made was to advertise the sale of my TE suit, for which I think I got $750. (and we are not talking about a kit either). I had always planned on getting back up with TE to replace my suit once I had gotten back on my feet. Needless to say, I have found that I have come back a bit too late.

Now after that long and unnecessary preface...

I too, would like info on how to get one of these suits.

I am going to keep my eye out for another TE suit to display, but this thing looks like the best bet around for wearing and looking pretty correct. I only wore my previous suit a few times, and never out as I was afraid to damage it.

Thanks in advance,

Brent Pinkstaff

Can i get a PM about the pricing and contact info on these kits as well??? Cant let you guys have all the fun

thanks in advance

AP is a great person to deal with. Right now i am waiting on a kit, and it has not arrived yet, but after an email i got not only the assurance that my set was to be shipped asap, but he threw in a FREE holster.
Needless to say, i was floored.

just another thumbs up on the AP armor...

i stumbled upon the run he did back in the fall, and couldnt be happier with his communication, packing, and finally the armor...everything was top notch

now i just have to get up the nerve to figure out how to trim it and put it all together...i just need to do more research here on the RPF i guess... :)

i certainly dont want to screw this beautiful suit up.

thanks

brad

I realise everyone's asking the same thing - but I too am planning on upgrading my AFX armor...if someone could take the time to PM me contact details for this source, that'd be hugely appreciated.
