Anyone Scratchbuild a Mal Reynolds Pistol?

Laminating it, then? or making hollow "box" shapes? It's looking cool.

Its a combination of both. The main structure of the gun is a boxwork made up of 1mm sheeting, the handle is part box part laminate to get the lanyard tab. As this is going to be the testbed for ideas on how to do it better next-time its going to look a little rough round the edges. The second attempt should be well smart. :love

I've been tossing around the idea of building a Mal pistol,I've decided that I will do it but it will have to wait until after Dragon.

i have been give a lend of this so i can take measurments to do my own scratch build
i am quite amazed at the size of this pistol it's huge
i will be measuring everything
so if you want i can send them to you as i measure

Please forgive my ignorance, but is this the movie or TV version of the pistol? I'm guessing the movie since it says Universal, right?

movie version the magazine area is different
not to sure what the other changes were
but basicly its the same pistol i think
and the measurement were being done for me to scratchbuild one one day
my friend lent me his for afew days
and when i saw your thread i thought why not share
if it helps then great
more measurments soon

Movie. You can tell by the magazine just forward of the trigger guard. The movie version is as seen while the TV version had a scrollwork "fin" on the bottom.

been a bit busy today building some things for a friend who is doing a live local comedy sketch show with a mix of pre recorded stuff to go in between so aint had time to measure
