I've been playing since yesterday on the beta and it's really neat! If anyone is playing I'd love to team up.

i was, but after doing a few missions, i got bored. every single mission is the same....

go here beat up guys, go here press the o button....go here beat up guys....go here press the o button....its a button masher and thats just not what im into.

the character creation is the funnest part of the game...

I had the same experience with City of Heroes/Villains. After a while, I spent more time creating heroes and villains than I did playing the game.

That's a shame because the trailer made it look really good.

agreed.....i was really jazzed with the trailers...and i signed up for playstation+ just so i could try out the beta....

so underwhelmed by the game....tried playing it again tonight.....really just bored by it....there is nothing new when you come to play it....every mission is the same.

i dont really think it can get better over time due to the way the game is set up...its a button masher. you get your mission and go.

what i would have liked to have seen them do,

say for the villians side of things....
you get to plan your own missions....make it so you buy plans from vendors,

so you start with bank heists at first to build up capital so you can buy bigger plans....

leading up to building a nuclear device, or a deathray or superman clone or what have you.

so you have missions that lead you to getting parts....once you get the parts, you can assemble your world ending device...and you have an end mission to plant that device....along the way you have heroes trying to stop you, depending how deep you are in the mission factors into which heroes your fighting....say booster gold, or blue beetle at the begining, leading up to batman or superman for the final missions..

then give the ability to team up with other players who maybe have a part you dont, combine together in a league of evil, and try to defeat superman or whoever

and you could still have all the preplanned missions thrown in there as well, to build up cash and levels to fight the higher up heroes.

it gives the players the feeling of being more in depth in the story, a hand in the action, and would make players more interested in coming back to play again,

as it is now i wouldnt pay a monthly fee to play what they have set up...

Hubby and I have both been playing beta and I have to say, I REALLY think they're trying to put this thing out too soon. It's buggy as hell still. Granted, things can continue to evolve and be upgraded as they go along, by why not just take a bit longer in the development phase and put out a REALLY good product instead of one that's 'good enough'.

As it stands, I cancelled my pre-order of the game because I got talked into giving Star Trek Online a shot and I'm really loving it.

(Oh, and as for the character generation in DCUO... it's 'meh' at best. I guess it could be that I'm spoiled by the level of detail and customization you can achieve in games like Champions Online and STO.)

A lot of games are being rushed anymore, especially these online ones. I hope maybe they change mission setups or something for DCU because if it improves i'll join. Then again i barely use my xbox gold membership. It would be neat for them to have offered some RPG elements like earning points to upgrade your characters or something.

You earn points to upgrade your character with new abilities and powers. You also get different equipment for different missions. It is a bit repetitive, but I think they can work with it. Right now I experience bugs on the Area 51 mission every time!!

I'm playing and I love it so far. I'm on PS3. I will let you know what my toons name will be when the game goes live on the 11th if you want to team up. Going to be making both a villian and a hero.

As far as the bugs in the game, I have been beta testing for a couple months now and the PC build is definitely ahead of the PS3. Having said that, they have been releasing patched for the ps3 version pretty quickly so I am confident that by the time the 11th comes around, they will have the majority of the bugs fixed. Also, to me its not bad when it comes to button mashing. You have to learn the combos and the fighting mechanics especially for pvp. If all you do is button mash, you get killed real fast.

So who else is playing this? I'm a lonely level 5 on No Man's Land (PS3) and I'm having trouble with Grodd.

Add me. PSN: MinderThr33

I will add you. My PSN is the same as here: Jawafive.

I'm level 21 on Justice. not sure how to switch servers yet. Probably something simple. If you come to Justice I'll help you beat up grodd and anybody else in your way!

I just tried to get the Beta on PC, they made me register to get it, only to tell me AFTER I register

Beta Registration Closed
Thank you for your interest in DC Universe Online, the beta registration is now closed.

I added a random to my army of one and was able to beat grodd easily, but thanks.

Looks like everyone is on a different server. There must be an easy way to switch it...

As of right now, they do not have an option to switch servers. maybe in a future update.
