Any one else bulking up/changing how they look for halloween?

I cut my long hair, and will trim again for oct. Colonial Quaritch can't have to much gut ether., thinking about carving scar line in my hair as well.

Since my birthday is Halloween I always do elaborate costumes, however being heavy I never do established works (with the exception of last years Ghostbuster). I've been trying to lose weight for this years costume. Aiming to be A LOT smaller for next year and my Galactus costume.

Doing a Spartacus Blood and Sand styled gladiator outfit so I've been doing 3 sets of 25 pull ups and 3 sets of 30 push-ups every morning. Just need to maintain...

i was growing my hair for the 11th doctor but now im doing tron legacy so now im concentrating on gaining some muscle and loosing the gut so i look good in spandex. any workout routines going? im doing all body weight stuff

Do some good core work for at least one hour everyday, if you do it right you should have a six pack in two weeks(depending on your body type, it worked for me).

Finally someplace I can actually do some good with my expertise, if anyone has questions on how to lose fat just ask me. Over the past year I've been reshaping my body: over the first nine months I lost 90 pounds, then I did P90X(amazing program by the way) bulked up a bit but I want to lose a bit more weight so now I'm doing a program called insanity. Both are great for weight loss, but P90X is more for bulking or toning (depending on how you do it).

Was thinking of doing Henchman 21 or 24 from Venture Brothers while my other half would do Dr. O, but we resently saw Deathly Hallows and now we're looking at doing Deatheaters.

I'm cutting weight a lil bit for my tron outfit im making, I train in mma so really I just need to cut down on my eating habits :D

Since I'll be doing Captain America (WWII Ultimates Version.... unless someone can hook me up with an accurate movie suit!), I'll be bulking up to about 220lbs. That's about ten more pounds than I way now.

I use Halloween as a target date for reaching dieting goals.

2008-unfortunately I look more like George Reeves than Christopher Reeve!

2007-much heavier, and didn't have to work very hard to complete this costume.

lol I always want to be in better shape, that being said I've been slacking off, but I'm 5'9'' and 160 lbs... and my main problem is I lost my routine over the summer. I mainly just do my Jedi costume, but I want to eventually do a Thor costume. I was on P90X, but like I said I've been slacking

I was trying to go for a Maul-esque pose, that didn't work out so well, but I kept the photo for some odd reason.

Here's my custom Jedi costume.

I manage to stay in relatively decent shape because I do a lot of lightsaber dueling lol, I know that sounds crazy but dueling is a heck of a core workout.

Tried to do a bit of working out to get in shape. I've got a weird shaped chest, and the last thing I need is my stomach to feel like it's sticking out when I'm supposed to be some lean fighter. It's slow going, because I'm not on any special diet or program, just some ab stuff, pushups, and a little bit of lifting.

i've tried to become more mature for a few decades in an attempt to become an adult!

it didn't work tho! :eek:P

I'm going for Snake from EFNY

Halloween is always a good time for me to assess stuff in my life. It is my birthday after all.:lol

This was me last November.

I think I'm doing good. Will need to get a trim pretty soon to keep my hair at Kurt length.

Sigma - Looking like that, you already look quite a bit like Snake.

I need to lose this beer gut for Mega Man, but I figure a little pudge wouldn't hurt it too badly since I'm going oldschool, MM1-3 era Mega.

nicely done man, you did a fine wolverine ;)

Thank you! As a blonde, I had to go pretty "method" with my costume and permanently dye my hair black. It also took me about two months to grow the beard. The working out part was easy, but the dieting sucks.

Glad to know i'm not the only one thinking about bulking up for costumes. I'm trying to gain weight and muscle for NYCC but since that is so close to halloween it can easily carry over.

I even decided to give up drinking till then to hopefully put on muscle weight and not fat. The rub is that I work in a bar twice a week.

ya im thinkin of doin some body reformation for costumes i'm going to use in the future. I read in a bodybuilding forum that there is a basic balance between building muscle and losing fat. you need to be in a negative calorie state to lose fat, and a positive calorie state to gain muscle.

this means if your core caloric intake is 2000, you should be consuming less than 2000 to lose, and more than 2000 to gain mass. its near impossible (or just really hard and time consuming) to attempt both at once.

personally im gonna try losing fat first, then when i reach a good starting point, ill P90X myself till I die of healthy exercise. lol! most of the costumes i wanna do are skintight and are shaped primarily by my own body.
