Any knitting experts around? Scarf needed!

As the title says I'm looking for someone who really knows their way around a pair of knitting needles. I've got my hands on a screen used Van Helsing costume worn by Hugh Jackman, but unfortunately scarf is missing. Finding one similar to complete the display has been near impossible!
Here's one of the clearest pictures of it I could find from one of the other versions of the outfit:

Is there anyone out there who could help with making this scarf?

Looking at the pic, it appears that the scarf isn't knitted but simply a piece of screen-printed fabric with tassels sewed on the bottom. Maybe you can visit a few fabric stores and see if they have an appropriate pattern?

I'm not entirely sure.. but I would suspect woven wool with two toned wool. You can see the fringe is formed from individually knotted tassles. These are either made from the unraveled ends (which knitting would not produce):

or from lengths of wool threaded through the end and knotted:

As you can see it can also be done with knitting.

I have some hand woven scarves which have a very similar effect. I'll take some photos in the morning to show how the striated effect can be produced.

If it is knitted then it's most likely on a machine.

I mentioned this thread to a friend who a knitting fanatic and she sent me this reply:

The scarf could be knit or possibly woven, though it's hard to get the colors to pool like that when weaving. Unless as the other poster suggested that it was woven and then printed. I hear WB has a printer on the backlot that can do that.

Thanks for all the replies so far guys, the dealer who originally sold the costumes from the film described it to me as a "beautifully knitted scarf" and I saw from a quick google search that Profiles in History sold one of the costumes that also included a scarf a long time ago and called it a "full length long knit scarf"

I had a couple of close-ups a while back, but can't seem to find them now, I remember thinking it looked a lot like soft fleece and could never really get my head around it being knitted, but I know literally nothing about knitting and the fabric look to it could just be an optical illusion I suppose.

The costume display is starting to really come together, I've picked up a half decent mannequin. I'm working out a deal for an original screen used hat and getting a leather coat custom made, but it just won't be complete without that scarf!
