Any famous folks in your family tree?

As a mutt through and through, I have blood from all over the place. On my mother's side, I can trace back to Watanabe no Tsuna, who is a Heian-era Japanese folk hero, who I've seen called "Japan's Beowulf" in an academic paper. Through him, I can go back to Saga, 52nd Emperor of Japan.

She has German, Welsh, and Irish blood too, but I haven't found anything in there yet. Just drunk Irish tailors during the Civil War. Wonder if there's a connection between my Morgan and Henry Morgan... My great-grandfather was half-German and half-Japanese, born from first generation Japanese and Germans in the 1910s. He was in his 30s during WWII and enlisted, but there's a gap between when he was supposed to have gone and when the papers shown, so I'm still investigating that.

On my father's side, the line that gave me my surname descends back to Edward Little/Lytle, William Wallace's nephew who fought in his war. There's some German, Irish, Huguenot, and other blood on that side too, but I haven't done much research on them.

My husband is a direct descendant of John Adams on his mother's side.

This also makes me related to Rush Limbaugh by marriage to his current wife who is also a direct descendant of John Adams. Haven't met either and probably won't.

Also on my mother's side
Abe Lincoln though I don't remember the proximity, it was pretty distant I think.

On my dad's side
(Through Marriage) Downtown Freddie Brown, former Seattle Super Sonic guard. I got to meet him a few dozen times when I was little and his son and I played together a lot when my stepmother would babysit him.

My late aunt Jean was a genealogist so I had the fortune of being able to trace my mother's side family all the way back to their European roots. My father was black and there is far less to be found there as his ancestors came over here as slaves so I've never really been able to go back more than a couple of generations.

When I was in seventh grade my aunt helped me make a family tree for a school project. It's over twenty five feet long and about five feet tall if I remember correctly. I still have it secured away in a tube but I haven't unfurled it in twenty+ years.

I may have to dig it out now. :)

I forgot to include my cousin Eddie Hasha who was a famous Board Track racer for Indian Motorcycles back in the early 1900's. He's most famous for his death unfortunately. In doing, his accident also killed several spectators and another racer. Eventually his accident lead to the end of Board Track racing.
