Anti-Shark Spray

By the time Batman actually sprays the shark, it's been gnawing on his leg for about a minute. I guess it's a good thing his tights are made with steel fibers. :lol

I want to follow up the Repellent cans with the Bat Wake and Bat Sleep cans.

Does anyone have the series available to screen cap them?

To the best of my knowledge, only the first season of the series has been made available in DVD to date, and that's been out of production for a while. I've been waiting for the whole series to make it to disc, but for some reason it's taking a long time.

Does anyone happen to have the old Season One DVD?

I seem to remember an episode in which Batman uses BAT-SLEEP to bring Catwoman (Julie Newmar) into the Batcave for some reason. He awakens her with BAT-WAKE and she ends up climbing the ladder of the atomic reactor that powers all of the equipment in the cave. Batman tries to stop her but she falls into the reactor, causing the Caped Crusader to shed a manly Bat-tear. Robin looks on, somewhat disgusted by the mush.

Of course, Catwoman has nine lives, so we do see her again in subsequent episodes. :lol

Unfortunately, I have no idea of the episode title or the season.

Does it sound familiar to anyone?

I also remember an episode where Batman used BAT-SLEEP and BAT-WAKE on Commissioner Gordon. Again, I have no idea of the title or season.

Not much help, I guess. :(

I think all or most of the episodes may have been released on VHS years ago. Perhaps someone with those could ID the episodes we need?

This appears to be an episode where they used "BAT-SLEEP".

Season 2, Episode 39: The Penguin Declines

Original Air Date—18 January 1967
Batman, summoning all the strength he can muster, breaks his chains and frees Robin from the giant clam. The heroes arrange for the Joker's former confederate, Venus, to stay at an apartment while they figure out what to do next. Meanwhile, the Joker has freed the Penguin from Gotham State Prison to continue their crime wave. The Joker tricks Venus into asking Batman to take her to the Batcave. The Dynamic Duo take her to their base of operations (but only after making her fall asleep first). When they arrive, the Joker, Penguin and assorted thugs are revealed to be hiding in the Batmobile's trunk. Batman, however, anticipated this and none of the criminals know where the Batcave is. A figure erupts, with Batman and Robin finally ending the zodiac crimes.

EDIT: I think I found where they use BAT-SLEEP and BAT-WAKE... The Batman movie where they take The Penguin (pretending to be someone else) to the Batcave where he "rehydrates" five pirate thugs. I am pretty sure that I remember they put him to sleep and then wake him up. Someone has to have the DVD of that movie.

I found an episode where Catwoman falls into a river and "dies". I think the episode with the woman that falls into the reactor at the Batcave is this one:
Season 1, Episode 2: Smack in the Middle

Original Air Date—13 January 1966
The Riddler fashions a mold of the face of the unconscious Robin. He contacts Batman with two more riddles. The Riddler tells Batman if he can solve the riddles, he'll know where Robin is. At the same time, Molly dons a Robin costume and a mask. Her task is to trick Batman into taking her to the Batcave. She succeeds but Batman had seen her disguise (but not for the reason most male viewers would guess). Trying to flee Batman, she panics and falls into the Batcave's atomic reactor. Batman rescues the real Robin but the Riddler escapes once more. Batman must solve additional riddles to find the villain's target -- the Moldavian pavilion at the world's fair where an ancient mammoth -- with jewels on the outside and priceless postage stamps inside -- is on display.

Yes, Montagar! That's it... it was a young woman wearing a Robin disguise! Thanks for jolting my memory of that episode I saw 40 years ago! :love

It's weird how some stuff sticks in your head, that girl falling into the reactor definitely got to me (of course I was 6 when I saw it :lol).

I am going to rent the Batman Movie tomorrow if I can find it locally. Hopefully my memory is correct and the BAT-SLEEP/WAKE sprays are in it.

Molly (Jill St. John) does in fact fall into the reactor in the Bat Cave in Part two of episode one. But I believe so does Catwoman in another episode. Not positive but pretty sure.

I have the Batman Movie and can screen grab from it. But it only has the one shot as shown earlier.

Despite what some people think, I'm pretty thorough in my research.

For some reason, the line "Never cry on my tights again, Shame!" also stuck in my head for 40 years. :lol

Your memory is indeed correct; however, I think the only look we get at the BAT-WAKE can appears in the screencap on Page 4 of this thread.

This is reassuring! I had such a vivid memory of it having been the Catwoman. :lol

Sorry about that, I got so wrapped up in looking through episodes that I forgot to go back in the thread and make sure that someone else hadn't come up with the Batman Movie connection.

And I, for one, would never question the thoroughness of your research. :thumbsup

Do we know if they show both sprays in part 2 of episode 1?

The character of Molly is disguised as Robin, hence when taken to the Batcave, Batman does not use the Bat-Sleep or Bat-Wake. That why she had to DIE. She knew where the Batcave was located.

The episode listed bellow is the one that I thought was a possibility (because of the "but only after making her fall asleep first"). It's the only one that I have run across so far that mentions putting someone to sleep before going to the Batcave.

This appears to be an episode where they used "BAT-SLEEP".

I drew up the whole sign.

I decided to leave the words Bat Spray on the sign to match what I put on the can.
