Hello Everyone,

This is my first jump back into the world of costuming.
I decided to start a project based on the images of Ant-Man that Marvel released in the Phase 1 Box set (available 4/2/2013)

Here is the first sketches based on the front view.

Next I need a side and rear view...
I'll keep you posted!

Best of luck. You have a lot of courage to start building a costume based on an early concept design btw, seeing as the final costume will probably change for the movie, so more power to you.

Good luck, I haven't seen that image before, looks great. Are there anymore pictures like it? :)

I took the original image into Photoshop and turned up the brightness and contrast to show more detail, then dropped it into Illustrator and outlined it by hand.

The next will be more difficult because I'll have to size everything by hand and build the back. When it comes to the sides I'm going to be on my own...

Unless anyone has a side profile?

Thank you!
I figure I'll get at least one Comicon out of it ;)

If I've said it once I've said it a dozen times: I am loving all of these new Ant-Man builds! Really looking forward to your progress (and I hope you decide to share any models or 2D files you make)!

Here is the back image pane I just finished. Again with limited photos I had to take a number of liberties, but I feel pretty good with how its coming along.

If anyone has any ideas please share!

Great work so far! I was so excited to see Marvel doing a run for Ant Man. Please say you'll be releasing this file when you get it done! (You'd be my hero :p)

heres a quick 3d mesh i did from looking at the pictures, tried to keep it low poly and pep ready.

Hey everyone
SO I was working on it last night and got the side view to about 80%.
I decided to skip the detailled round pieces on the back because I figure it will be easier to just build those in blender when I render the helmet. They seem to sit at an odd angle anyways and if I can save some time doing it that way so be it. I'll start with the 3D model today or this weekend.

Not bad, though there is a bit of a problem with all of the separated pieces (it's in OBJ format, not PDO format SDUK, you'll have to import it), but other than that, it seems like it would be a good base for an antman helmet.
