ANOVOS issues (ANOVOS ONLY discussion)

So , like I said before, Anovos is out with barely a whimper. Rubies-2 and NECA must have been in the works for this takeover(?), succession(?), buyout(?) of Anovos behind the scenes for a while, because they would have to get the licensing rights from Disney/Lucasfilm. Usually in a buyout, former debts are NOT part of the purchase. However, if Denuo Novo is actually taking on the outstanding debt/old orders from Anovos, that would be... weird, bizarre, but hopefully beneficial to all of us here (and elsewhere) that were shafted by Anovos.

Question: If they were to offer you your original order, versus credit towards new purchases (but no outright refund), which would you accept?

Prediction: I think you will actually get your items after all. But they will not be the quality level you hoped for.
I can see that (now). Not going to get my hopes up, but it looks like it might just happen.

As for the quality, my belief is that we'll be getting the exact same thing. I have a feeling the "Anovos quality" was part of the negotiations. Remains to be seen.

Absolutely. That is still the unbelievable part. I'm sure this type of deal has happened before, it's just that I've never seen it until now. How fortunate would we be if they'd actually fulfill all those outstanding orders? Still shaking my head as I type this.

And the benefits would be across the board. Customers get their fully paid merch, and Newnovos kicks things off with a great reputation. If I were them I'd have a PR team make sure this slipped in the news streams.

Beyond that, Newnovos has the foresight that Anovos didn't> "storefronts" at 2 theme parks + a cosplay resort, where there's a regular flow of customers. At that's just the beginning. Add the next wave of Star Wars properties (Book of Boba Fett, Kenobi, Andor, etc) in addition to subsequent Mandalorian seasons, and there's another stream of revenue. Bo-Katan helmet/costume (and all Mando variants), Ahsoka head gear and costume, Fennec Shand helmet/costume, Transport Trooper helmet/costume...and that's just from one show.

If that wasn't enough, add the Avengers Campus and all things MCU into the mix and there's no way this can fail...UNLESS Newnovos get complacent.

These are certainly interesting developments!

Good question. Right now, I'd likely risk it and go with the original order.

Question, I’m not sure if this was answered earlier in the thread, has anyone taken Anovos to small claims court over their order? If so, how did it go?

I wish them well on their new venture, but two things:

1) The prices seem higher than Anovos' -- specifically, the Imperial Officer cap is $75 vs. the $50 I paid for mine in 2015 (granted, I got the standard, not the premium, so maybe it's the same).

2) What's with the Imperial logo imprinted on the cockade (badge)?? In the movie, it's plain metal and has no logo. So much for screen accuracy.

I really want there to be beneficial changes with how they do things. I’m definitely going to keep an eye on this thread to see what actually arrives.

Krennic had an Imperial Cog in the center of his Hat Greeblie. Since ANOVOS made, or rather prototyped, their Krennic items before the other stuff, ANOVOS was probably just reusing Krennic's greeblie instead of making or photographing a new one, and DenuoNovo is just reusing ANOVOS's images/items.

Correct. They did ship out the hat with the Cog greeblie. The regular disc greeblie did not arrive, and was supposed to be shipped later. The hat was supposed to come with both.

I do have to say, I giggle when companies (especially American ones) try to give their company some sort of “self-appointed sense of gravitas” by incorporating ancient Latin, Greek, etc. into their company name, such as Denuo Novo (and then proceed to have to explain what it means to the consumer, which is ultimately self-defeating from a branding perspective).

Why not just call the company what it really is, and put into plain English what they are…

I received an email from this new company which said that fulfilling all Anovos's prior orders was part of the agreement with the licensor. They said that sequel Stormtrooper armor would ship first quarter of 2022. I am crossing my fingers that they are serious.

I freaking love this!!!!

It's one thing to have a memorable business name, but they aren't writing the next great American Novel, they're a replica company.

Giving shipping projections feels awfully familiar..... Let's just pray these estimates are real and not just wishful thinking.

I hope to see some new products from these guys soon. I have been wanting a FOTK TLJ/TROS bucket for awhile. The Black Series is inaccurate and Anovos' was impossible to find. I will wait for some consumer guinea pigs to test the waters first though.

The TLJ helmet is available at Galaxy's Edge if you can get someone to grab one for you.

Ahh... as much as I love Rogue One, never noticed that on Krennic's cap. That said, it still seems pricey to me. I was going through my emails, and saw that I snagged their Stormtrooper helmet for $250 back in the day! That was probably due to tiered pricing, but I doubt this resurrected version of the company will go that low again.

The one item I'm looking forward to is a new Chewbacca mask. Anovos teased one years ago (naturally). That might be the only time I say "screw it" and just empty my wallet.
