ANOVOS issues (ANOVOS ONLY discussion)

There hasn't been any Star Wars items added to the Anovos website in a long time. I think the last item added was the new Shoretrooper helmet in September 2020.

Certain items like the Jango Fett and Commander Gree Clone Trooper helmets have only been Interest List. They did not collect any money for those. I signed up on the interest list for those when they were put on the website and have received no communication or invoices for them.
They did deliver at least a few of the V2 shore troopers and i got my GB legacy proton pack finally as well.

If you type in Anovos.com and get redirected to a newly branded website with the same products, you should be fantastically skeptical anything has changed in a positive manner.

DN has a LOT to prove before they begin to earn anyone's trust. I don't see this ending well. It rarely ever does.

The Mouse House can be VERY unforgiving for vendors that don't deliver on promised products. I worked for a 3rd Party Participant for many years dealing with ordering products, and the big D would get aggressive in their communications if things were taking longer than anticipated to receive (particularly if it was an exclusive for them).
I can see this being Disney stripping Anovos of the license after them not being able to meet deadlines, then offering it to an already existing licensor that makes similar items. This would require Anovos to hand over all of the molds/dies/etc. to NECA along with anything else related to the license (like the preorders lists).
As far as NECA/Rubies II? It all comes down to how accurate they want to be... Or if they just want to start pumping out stuff like they used to. I'd want to see things before handing them any money, and not just "prototypes" at shows, but actual production pieces.

Rubies and NECA... 2 of the worst replica makers out there. Why would this be a good idea to anyone? All NECA prop replicas are inaccurate garbage with the only saving grace being that they're affordable... for kids.
I really don't understand this line of thinking. I have heard it multiple times from people.

NECA and Rubies have never been in the high end business. They have their respective audiences. I have several NECA action figures so I can speak to that at least. NECA has never played in the same space as Hot Toys or Side Show, at least to my knowledge. And that is fine, that's not their intended audience. There is a world of difference between producing higher end action figures ($20-$40) range and what Hot Toys produces. Just because they produce a certain product meant for a certain audience, doesn't mean that that is the end of their competency.

While I have never owned a Rubies costume, I can pretty much say the same thing about their stuff. It is meant for a very casual audience. Obviously anyone that is passionate about Stormtroopers is not going to be satisfied with a Rubies line TK costume. You and others seem to be making the connection that just because they are producing product for that audience means that they cannot make the jump into other lines.

I am excited for NECA and Rubies because they both have experience and resources in areas that ANOVOS was sorely lacking.

Let's let New-Novos produce some products and then judge those products on their merit. It is progress at the very least which is better than what we have gotten out of Anovos for at least the last 3-5 years.

I wonder if I'll ever see this as I paid to reserve one. Oh Anovos kept telling me that it was in the works and to be patient. After losing $600+ for the Scout Trooper from EFX,

If newno intend to fulfil past orders before moving on, when will they ever start offering new stuff? Surely, the sheer amount of missing orders and product will keep them busy for years? Unless they’re just offering to cover the few products that were in production at the end.

Also, knowing if Dana and Jo will be involved in this company going forward would help me decide on spending. I wouldn’t want to line their pockets more than they have already taken.

That last part is important, knowing if they're still involved might be a deal breaker.....

From what I understand the owners of Anovos are not involved with the operation of this new company.

Did they say they wouldn't offer new stuff until the Anovos back orders were filled? I don't remember reading that on any of the official information releases.

Its not directing to a new site, Anovos site is still up with Star Trek items.
If you read a couple pages back you will see that people are getting different results. At the moment, if I write (or paste) the URL, now all I get is a "secure connection could not be established" error, where yesterday I was rerouted to Denuo or could access the old site depending on how I entered the URL. If I highlight and right-click "open in a new tab" over "anovos.com" I get to Denuo. Things are really strange.

I can't seem to reach Anovos at all now. It might be like I suggested yesterday- the site is being taken offline and DNS servers around the world are taking time to have their cache purged.

That's what they claim. But why the name similarity and other things?

Here's an additional message I sent them:

"OK, but your name suggests a STRONG connection to Anovos, as does your logo. And if you are completely separate, why are some folks getting redirected to your website when they type in Anovos.com, and why are others seemingly being connected to Anovos pages through your website. (I also note that your product photos are the exact same ones as on Anovos website, but with different backgrounds.) Have you taken over their tooling? Is the facility in Texas making your helmets as well? And since it seems Anovos traffic is now being redirected to your website, does that mean Anovos has shut down? As you can imagine, there's a LOT of confusion in the community about what's going on."

And their reply:

"I don't have a good answer as to why the entire Anovos site is redirecting to us, since we only have the Star Wars license and they have many other customers with orders from other licenses. We used their photos because that is what their customers had bought and that is what we intend to deliver. And it is much easier to use text that has already been approved by Disney than to put new text through the approval process. We plan to keep adding more of their old items to production to help their old customers and you will see the same text and photos for those as well, since it is only fair for people who ordered those items to get specifically what they ordered. We are aware that there is a lot of history with Anovos but we are doing our best to inform people and help out."

I'm hoping all outstanding orders from the Anovos accounts will be transferred to Newnovos.

If not, I hope people screencapped their orders page.
I saw this written on one of the Facebook pages, claiming it came from Denuo. I have asked them to verify the statement, so take it with an entire salt shaker until they do!

"It is because we are doing it as a favor to Disney specifically for Star Wars. We didn't buy Anovos, we wanted to get that license from Disney. Legally, we cannot do anything about their other non-Star Wars products because we don't have those licenses.
I know it's frustrating. We'd be willing to offer you site credit for any of our current or future products, but I know that is not the same as getting your original order or your money back from them."

IF the wording of that message means what I think it means, and they confirm it to be legit, that would be very, very generous.

I can't seem to reach Anovos' site any longer, in any browser or through any proxies. (I'm glad I logged in yesterday and saved all my orders... and I still have most of my email history with them.)
