ANOVOS issues (ANOVOS ONLY discussion)

This is interesting...it seems there are pretty extreme variances in their quality control. Take a look at the photos of my Anovos Mando lid that I received at the beginning of January (post #7,204) - there is substantially more clear coat on yours (I even question if they put any on mine - if so, it certainly isn't high gloss). Also, the vent on the back of yours appears much cleaner and crisper than mine.

Wow - what a difference. I would say this is more of a change in production rather than a variance. Maybe they were getting some sort of finish/paint issue in the earlier runs and instead of fixing it properly they just slathered on clear coating to seal it?

NOOOOPE!!! I’ve been trying to get info on my jacket and Merrick helmet, all they say is check their updated release page. Man I hate this company.

Agreed this will be the last time I purchase something from them. If I even get the jacket. Probably won't even fit since I ordered it 3 years ago.

Just went back to your #7,204 post, and you're right. The difference is staggering.

Not keen on the weathering as it looks a bit much like rust but the paint job overall is really nice, with a nice, thick clear coat over it.

Question for minutefett, for clarity > did you add that clear coat? Just asking, since the helmet is sitting on what looks like a lighting stand that seems like it's been used for painting. Fine if you did (there are multiple version of helmets in the show, including glossy versions), just wondering if it came that way straight out of the box.

I actually make props and use these stands for painting.
But no, I didn’t add any clear coat to this helmet. This is how it came out of the box. I am just noticing the very different similarities between various helmets. Quality control seems lacking for these helmets.

Sweet, thanks for clarifying. I felt the need to ask because, yeah, the differences between helmets is like nothing I've ever seen before.

Basically Anovos finally sorta kinda got one item right: This Mandalorian head with varying levels of finish is only a little bit late and most of them are not losing pieces.

The funny thing is that I expect there is some kind of "we turned the corner" euphoria over there at Anovos - like a new chef pulling a turkey out of the oven that is only a dried out leathery football raisin instead of fully engulfed in flames.

The thing that is building up though is the funniest: Those goons have slated a small ocean of orders to be fulfilled this quarter and, after all the "restructuring" and "changes" and "stateside" crap, they are going to FALL EXACTLY INTO THE PATTERN OF BUMPING QUARTER ESTIMATES OUT ONE BY ONE again - SAME AS YEARS AGO...
