ANOVOS issues (ANOVOS ONLY discussion)

I’m pleased to say ‘Charlie’ over at Anovos is ‘personally monitoring my refund’ (8 months waiting, now) and it will be sorted ‘soon’.
Oh wait, no he isn’t and no it won’t!
Still he sort of gets my hopes up every few weeks, but damn, it all comes to nothing...again!

Good. This is a long time coming. It still stings that they never delivered my Kylo premiere suit and strung me along for nearly 1.5 years. But my gosh, 40k in missing merch for just one individual? I would be having an aneurysm from rage right now!

Reading this made me think of my mother, she used that term all the time

I dont blame you guys at all for going this route... Anovos really screwed up going silent again after Celebration.. Its the one thing we needed above all else, to know whats going on, and they just couldn't keep to what they said they'd do in terms of steady updates, so they absolutely deserve the flak and whatever happens, happens. That said, I'd still much prefer getting my kit over getting a refund via lawsuit or them going bankrup, so while I may be in the minority, I'm still crossing my fingers that Anovos somehow pulls this off and does start delivering product. People are starting to receive things here and there it seems, so its a sign of something; though some the QC issues are absolutely unforgivable... but I really do hope they can somehow, at the very least, get squared away with everyone in product or refund and see brighter days again..

This is GREAT!!!!!!! I love it. And THANK YOU Hollywood Reporter for running the story!!!

I think I'll send the link to "Charlie"

I have some theories of how this company turned so awful. It all comes down to two things, in my estimation: Greed and mismanagement.
Your preorder money does not go towards development or fulfillment of the item you ordered, it goes towards paying off the companies debt and licensing fees, which I estimate are considerably massive. That being the case, they are left with little to no funds to pay for development, manufacturing and shipments of the product (which is the real reason people are waiting literal years for items).
The company is caught in an irreversible loop, having dug their debt hole too deep to recover.
They need preorder money to pay debt and never gain enough capital to actually manufacture and deliver the goods.
Basically they are on life support.
With the revelation of this lawsuit, which was a long time coming, I think the life support will be terminated and Anovos will die in substantial debt and possibly more legal trouble.

My question will be how did they deliver so much stuff initially? They 7 or 8 helmets that came out great and the first round or two of those went out in a timely manner. How come all of a sudden they weren't able to ship anything?

I think they subcontracted prop makers here in the states initially. Then they decided to make more money and move it overseas. Obviously the company has no idea how to run a business. Which explains why no product is made or shipped and their customer service is terrible.

I’d have to go back through this thread... but I don’t want to. But Anovos has been collecting prepays for Star Wars items for over 5 years now. Didn’t it take a year or more for any Star Wars product to hit the light of day?

The other thing is that products related to new movie releases can start production when they get the resource material but they have to obey a non disclosure agreement and follow set dates to announce and release products. I believe that some of the helmets like Rogue One helmets had a head start in production before they were put on sale so in comparison to other offerings, it has the illusion of of short turnaround time.

I’m gonna see if I can get in touch with one of my old students. Long story but, aside of being a business owner, I teach at the local career college 2 hours a week. One of my students several years back was a 501st member and ended up (as stated above) doing some contract work for them. I’m going to reach out and see if he has any insight?

Yeah--the original Stormtrooper kits took around a year from pre-order to delivery for most--although, that was what we were told when we made the preorder for that item, so it was all good. However, some waited much longer, and everything since then seems to just have gotten worse and worse on delivery times.
