ANOVOS issues (ANOVOS ONLY discussion)

There is a scenario too where Disney does not let Anovos post official progress reports because those reports might contain accounts of difficulty with a manufacturer. And reports of difficulty could vilify an entity such that libel might come into play, however unjustly. Also, obstacles at Disney or LFL would reflect badly perhaps on image or branding or whatever.

But here is my point - and maybe I'm reaching - but this leaves Anovos with the only choice, legally, of being actively unfair to its customers. Deliberately unfair by legal paralysis.

I can easily imagine that.

This lie keeps getting passed around; the truth is it's complete crap. Disney and LFL never tells a company they can't post progress. The information blackout is Anovos's choice only.

Edit: I should mention that I worked for a toy company in the design department so I know about this first hand.
 
Not going to be a scientific poll, but... how many people here have current preorders pending? And of those, how many will continue waiting if there’s a delay email, versus jumping ship?

I’m bailing on the Blue Leader lid if it gets delayed again. It’s too bad that my cancellation of something ordered long, long ago might have some sort of detrimental effect on Anovos or its employees, but it’s not as if they don’t have a responsibility to deliver on what they said they would deliver. Patience and good will can only extend so far, I think.

I continue to be baffled by how these companies do things. I’m just about ready to be done with it for good.

Had lunch yesterday with a group of friends working on a SW project and a Marvel project (not toys though) and part of the discussion was about how Disney/LFL are extremely uptight about their property. Not laying blame on Disney, certainly not defending Anovos, and I'm not saying you're wrong, just saying that what came up during our talks is that they have a lot of control over certain aspects of 3rd party product development - more than in previous years.

Regardless of the real reasons, it's messed up.

I currently have the Kylo Ren premier helmet and standard ensemble on pre-order.

Tricky thing about getting a refund is the 8-12 week processing time.

That said, I'll probably request a refund and go with a different maker.

Disney has opinions sure all licensees do. None I’ve ever worked with said you couldn’t talk about the progress.

It’s insane, we all know what the item is as a picture of it is in the preorder so it’s not like Disney is worried about word getting out of what a helmet or something will look like.

Also toy fair is where companies show prototypes and in progress item out in the open for everyone to see.
 
I have a lot of stuff (nine fully paid items) that I am waiting on. Oldest is probably the Blue Leader helmet. Half is slated for Winter and half is the 12/21 deadline. I just don't think I can wait past the Winter session UNLESS some of the items start getting shipped between now and then. I also don' t think I could get a refund for all the items in a timely manner at this point either even though I've gotten 3 refunds in the past. I've also received 5 awesome looking helmets from them so far. Tough situation for sure.
 
Nine?! Wow - good luck with that but sounds like you're on it.

I've just got the one costume on order but everyone around me is well past the idea of any Star Wars thing we were going to do.


But where the F is our update?! What - are they "fine tuning" it?! lol

Santa might just be placing a stack of refund requests under the Anovos Xmas tree huh... (if the group here is any indication).
 
Currently I have the premier Kylo Ensemble, the Luke helmet, the Luke Bespin belt and the Rey quarterstaff all due by tomorrow. Over $4000 in undelivered items.
 
Going on week 14 since I requested my refund. Filed a complaint at BBB, in January if I havent seen some movement, going to look into the legal route for my refund.
 
...and yet some here defend Anovos and act like the fed up Members are wrong for rightfully requesting a refund...:confused:

But mine is a replacement order. I have been told they do have the belts but they are way behind on shipping. Tho I find this extremely difficult to believe as its been almost a month... the CR rep today say they are shipping tho??

Leeway if you get an email about a delay on the luke belt could you let me know.
 
Here is a picture I took at Wondercon back in February of the Gold Leader helmet shortly after I pre ordered it. I should have grabbed it and ran. Knowing what I know now it would have been sweet justice. Who would of known that would have been the closest I would get to owning it. Lol
