ANOVOS issues (ANOVOS ONLY discussion)

This is so sad. I have several Anovos items (all from over two years ago.. All ordered as "in stock".. Even at the best of times I never trusted pre order).

They have done some quality work. Sad to see them kill their own company.

I'm sure they stopped listening a long time ago, but I feel like you could save the company with three little words:

Tell. The. Truth.

People understand delays. They understand supplier mistakes. What they do not understand is in-stock items that don't ship, and no updates followed by lying updates. Just level with people. You may think it sounds bad, but even the worst case scenario sounds better than it will six months from now when the truth comes out anyway and you get caught lying about it.

The problem with Anovos telling the truth is that they would probably have to admit to keeping too much of the money for themselves personally, blowing the rest on bad business decisions that consumers would be extremely weary about if known, admitting they can’t afford to hire anyone to do work that is necessary to run a business, and truthfully state that they only really wanted to have others finance their hobby and thought it would work as a lifestyle.

but hey, they got into the lucasfilm archive and got to handle their absolute favorite helmet, the Royal guard...they did tell the truth about that with the implied “ on your dime”

BTW - They quietly updated the shipping dates for the Han Force Awakens Jacket to Q4 (Oct 1st - Dec 31st) so at least I can look forward to getting it for Christmas this year...

Wasn't the Mandalorian helmet supposed to ship by the premiere (or was it Thanksgiving)? Either way - that language is also wiped from the page. Now it just says "Shipping Soon."

So has The Last Jedi helmet that was bumped to Q4 2019 but has been re-bumped to Q1 2020 with no, "Customers with outstanding orders will be notified via email within 30 days of such changes. "
FYI, they have never once notified customers within 30 days or ever.

So while this would normally spur a lot of excitement from me were I able to get excited about an Anovos "product" any longer... Has anybody noticed this from the Mando helmet blog photo?

I guess I would be excited, but it reminds me of all that 'beautiful TK footage' of stacks of armor parts...it only counts when its delivered to the people who paid first.

I know this may qualify as a tin foil hat conspiracy theory, but I actually believe there may be some truth to the rumor that TK armor came in, but was needed for the new Disney world park first.

all the more reason why i need one of those 'mirror masks', but i digress. if true thats a shame, because that would mean history was altered a second time. we paid first.

I don't think it is a conspiracy theory at all. The kits in ROTR are Anovos, the FOTK and Kylo helmets sold at the parks are Anovos and nothing has shipped to customers. It is a fact that Disney got Anovos products and not the people that pre-paid years ago.

Well, EFX is also making the Mandalorian helmet and have a Boba Fett helmet listed to ship November 2019 on their site so it isn't a stretch that this is actually a picture from a factory making them for both Anovos and EFX. After All we know that EFX and Anovos are buddy buddy.

if they all go to 'Mando World', I think I will go back to BSG, full time.

Someone recently told me about how, when they were 8, her mom held her a birthday party and no one came. This girl did not realize at the time that it was because people feared her mother but, when she had a surprise party at 40 she could not stop crying because of it.

Anovos has chosen to very deliberately play with emotions like these, throw them around, and blame the victims.

A pretty good rule of thumb is: Pick two of these three things at the expense of the third.

Fast. Cheap. Good.

If you want Fast and Good, it won't be Cheap.
If you want it Fast and Cheap, it won't be Good.
If you want it Good and Cheap, it won't be Fast.

There are obvious exceptions to the rule. But...

There's a reason some of the best props out there are expensive - the CFO Vader Helmet is a great example. It's not cheap. And it's certainly not the fastest turnaround. Though it's likely better than EFX or Anovos. But it's hands down, the best Vader helmet available right now. And it's hand-made to order by Mark himself. He doesn't have a staff in China making his items. Same with the guys at Prop Masters. And Trooper Master. And Eric on TDH. And Robert and Carty at VillainWorks. Bookface. Their quality is outstanding and the turn around it reasonable, but it's not cheap.

Which brings me to: hiring cheap labor overseas is going to have an effect - and many times, not in a good way on all three qualities. The item may come in at a lower price than if it was produced in the states or the UK, but it likely sacrifices both fast and good. Some of the items shipped may be of great quality - but the QC of the entire batch will be lacking. There are going to be big duds, even if it took them 1, 3 or 5 years to finish the run. the EFX Biker Scout is a prime example.

Anovos and EFX have chose which two of their three is important. ...and because of the type of labor they chose, sometimes all three are sacrificed. Personally, I wish they'd produce their items in the US, and mark up their products accordingly. They'd likely have better control of the development and production phases.
