ANOVOS issues (ANOVOS ONLY discussion)

Do you think Joe or Dana will have a Thanksgiving Day?

Do you think they might smile?

If so, not enough is being done about all of this.

Any news on Class Action?

Alumaluster is $180 for 8oz which is enough to do at least three of these helmets. It goes a long way.

Bobamaker - $360
Alumaluster - $180
Clear coat - can be a $20 can or my favorite, Matrix clear coat, which can be bought for $78 shipped.

You’ll find that is still under $700. Switch to a 2K rattle can and you’d be under $600. If I’m not mistaken, Sam sells, (or at least sold,) 4oz kits of Alumaluster as well. That would be more than enough for one helmet, if someone desired to go that way. That would reduce the price even more.

I am speaking from first hand experience here. I use these materials regularly, and I have for years. I am familiar with the costs and options. If there is anything else that needs to be cleared up, by all means, let me know. ;)

Cool beans. Looks like I’ll be ordering a can. [emoji16]

So you’re saving yourself $50? Or maybe $100 or so, compared to the Anovos. To me, having a helmet traced back to the actual production molds, or the studios digital files is worth that little bit of extra.

It’s cool you can get Alumaluster in smaller sizes. I only saw the quart size listed on their website, and I’d love to paint one myself.

No matter the access to originals, licensed replicas always have inaccuracies. For instance, I love my anovos death trooper helmet, but there are some details around the lenses that are incorrect. People like Bobamaker will somehow always be more accurate than idealized replicas. This is coming from someone who doesn’t mind dropping money on idealized and licensed props.

All of this is great but Anovos has never met a time or budget constraint. Myself, I love the helmet in the pics. I'd buy it if it were actually available without exception in the time frame they already missed.

Still, re: my preaching here, I am daily running into more and more folks who don't know what it takes to finish anything. Truly finish. No one being "realistic" will ever know what it takes to finish anything to an exceptional degree.

The good thing is, Anovos isn’t pre-selling the helmet. They’re selling the helmet once they’re finished and ready to ship. So no deposits will be required. When Anovos has sold items with this method in the past, the customers seemed pretty happy.

Just got their Black Friday email. Looks like they’re gearing up on a massive helmet push out. 15% off preorders.

Lol

Well...I preordered a General Merrick helmet years ago; doubt they’ll be giving me an additional 15% off that preorder (even though it’s on their list of sale items).

I have to disagree on a lot of this. Filming the Mando helmet is going to make the helmet look different in a photo, and it'll still look different sitting on your shelf at home. It's all going to have to do with the film crew's lighting, camera angles and post production retouching.

If not for the pooling of the clear coat in those areas, you definitely can't tell it's silver paint with heavy clear coat any more than the screen used helmet looking like real polished metal.

How about you wait and see what the final delivered helmet looks like before over reacting.

Bobmaker's Standard Kit - $360 USD
Alumaluster paint = $400 USD
Add the clear coat...

That's more than $700. ;)

Yah I'm sure they will replicate the paint job exactly like the original lol!!!! regardless not worth $700 for such a simple to produce helmet.

Well, $700 is the cost of domestic labor. Without it you probably wouldn't have it by now with the international travel time and relative lack of quality control overseas. It is the only way for them to deliver a quality product in the delivery time frame.

Oh I am sure there are people who have never heard of them and in a few years wish they never had...

Omg—

Who would even do this?! Fan or the company? I mean a pre-order same on things you’ll never get? Come on!! Happy Black Friday, suckers.

So I'm not sure everyone knows, but Charlie is the only person in CS at Anovos... he admitted it after i had sent several emails over a week with no response. He was a little upset after I found the lack of response was unprofessional... to which I reminded him that well this one of many issues I've had with Anovos this year... plus add to fact the refund was for an item they lied about having ready to ship and actually never had.
( they guaranteed me a few times it was in a box waiting to ship) .. so yeah, im justified in being fed up with no response.

Im not sure its all his fault, finance has to release the money but ... anyways... just so everyone knows "Charlie" is the only CS person at Anovos....

I guess I can forget what Reggie has been telling me the last few months lol

Who knows the full story... but here is the entire email:

"We are not a large company. I am THE customer service team handling hundreds of customers service inquiries every day. I work tickets as fast as I can, but there is a backlog. I would love to say I can get to you every week, but that is just not the reality. I apologize for this inconvenience, but I want you to know I am doing everything I can in spite of you not getting a weekly update."

Maybe "Charlie" means just refund section.. tho I have wondered if the different CS team members were just made up names but one person ... but that's kinda cynical of me...

I don't blame Charlie solely.. I mean Anovos put him in this situation... I'm sure he is doing what he can...
