ROGUE ONE: A STAR WARS™ STORY Imperial Officer Hat Accessory (Q4 2019)
We had some issues getting the cockade pin produced, as the original manufacturer had their facility destroyed in a flood and all of our completed pieces were lost. A new manufacturer has been found and this hat is back on track.

It takes you two and a half years to produce a f'in pin on a hat??!!!

......and in Dec we will get ANOTHER “Update” that it will be pushed back to Q1/Q4.

Does this actually surprise anybody here?

No, not surprised at all about further failings.

Surprised though at the new level of cluelessness - why send out something at this point that will only upset everyone who gets it.

What a backfire...

My favorite part is how they talk about several items that have moved up in shipping dates due to their new fangled whatever but no mention of the number of items, like my Han Solo Force Awakens jacket, that actually were pushed back yet again. I ordered it in March of 2017... Most recently it was supposed to ship by tomorrow. now its next quarter (90 days max). It's disgusting.

Also, FWIW, I never received today's e-mail regarding this.

Cheers
Steve

I'm waiting for the Solo TFA as well and didn't get the e-mail either. But the jacket did get a mention. Not much info aside from an incoming 'blog post'. I wasn't expecting it to ship today. I imagine that most, if not all, items have shifted yet again, The charitable way to think about it is that they have spent most of spring trying to get their act together (as an organization) and therefore have had to essentially pause all production until they get sorted (with Disney, Lucasfilm and now the law suit breathing down their necks). The pessimistic version is of course that they're just stalling to delay the inevitable. I can see either being true. IF their claims of being tightly controlled by the licensors is true, I can also imagine said licensors stepping in to force/help them get sorted, if only to not damage the brand names.

Overall, I didn't think the update was too bad. There wasn't any outright victim-hood claims and the like, that I could see in my quick read-through. The Royal Guard has even moved forward in their estimate and it seems they've moved some production back to the US (quite possibly due to the China tariffs, which might be affecting clothing manufacture).

I'm still hovering over the 'chargeback button' as well as joining the suit if needed. I guess their next big test of fire will be what happens around SDCC.

Just to let people know, there is a time limit for charge backs for some banks. So be careful about hesitating too long.

I recently requested the chargeback for an item with a promised delivery range from December to March. December was out of the range for Chase to do anything, but they allowed me to use March to get the refund.

I just can't imagine that 80% of the products they are late on will ship Q4 2019.
It does seem very unlikely. Add to that the products that were already due to ship in Q4 (like the Wrath of Khan Field Jacket) that aren't actually late yet! The only way I see them righting the ship in a fairly timely manner is if they get outside help- for example if The Mouse doesn't want the brand soiled.

(My CC, connected with Mastercard, has a general 'fraud protection guarantee' and I'm checking into how far back they will honor it. Might be that they can't do a chargeback, but will cover the losses anyway as an incentive to keep using the card. But then I'm on the other side of the pond from most of y'all, with different consumer protection laws.)

If i could add something.

I also have a CC through Chase, while nothing is ever guaranteed... they basically said if you can show that they have failed to delivery and you can document changes, issues, etc then there is no date by which they can do nothing ... so document, document, document... screen shots of chats with CS or constant emails... to show you acted in good faith and they prolonged it... any CC company or Bank should be able to argue to get your money back.

Again no guarantee, but it does help the CC or bank investigation.

They can’t do the logistics of what they are now saying anyway.

Going by their statements before celebration about how they don’t have enough people for shipping items and that they will stop everything and pull people in from other duties to help with shipping when a bulk delivery arrives...there is no way they have the time or manpower to send out all the items they are now saying are arriving in Q4. Do they really think that if all that stuff shows up in their wearhouse over the course of the 3 months of Q4, they can box it up and get it out?

I think the only way out of this for them will be to file bankruptcy as soon as the lawsuit process actually happens. That or a miracle will happen and product will actually be shipping in waves from the last few years.

Yes - I agree - this is one franchise. i think this is telling as to what is happening 'behind the scenes' with the rest...

My favorite response so far is that supposedly “the FO kits have indeed began shipping and I am king it shocked you haven’t seen any out in the wild..” [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]
I personally know two people who have received theirs, though I am still waiting for mine. Their reviews have helped me determine I'll be going with fan makers for the gaskets, most likely. And I'm not happy the ab boxes are solid urethane rather than hollow plastic. Will probably upgrade there, too.

So yes. I have seen them out in the wild.

Um... The lawsuit process has been happening. Both parties have shown what they got, and the judge has sent it to Alternative Dispute Resolution. i.e., arbitration. Neither side want bankruptcy, and that's part of what the mediation will be seeking to avoid. The plaintiffs want either the quality product ordered in good faith or full restitution of funds paid in said good faith. Bankruptcy would result in neither of those. Customers' money would vanish down the black hole of bankruptcy filing.

Here's the thing. Lets pretend we took tons of drugs (especially hallucinogens) and believe them. That 'update' says they'll be shipping substantially more things in Q4 alone then in the entire history of the company. They better on a hiring spree to get all that shipped. They're slow enough when one item actually shows up, can't imagine 30.

There's at least one out there - Saw it in a Facebook post in response to this very question...

Cheers

Well....Guess it’s good to know there’s at least 2 out of the 50,000 floating around[emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]...all kidding aside, A delivery is better than NO delivery I suppose. I can deal with solid urethane on the ab section after wearing Jims kit for 3 years...it’s beautiful but it’s a heavy beast! [emoji1303][emoji1305]

Not solid. Just not happy about those pieces being resin. Here's the assembly instructions. Scroll down a bit to where the abo section is being assembled and you can see how they look.
