ANOVOS issues (ANOVOS ONLY discussion)

Just as a matter of interest, still waiting for a refund from October 2018.
Someone please tell me I’m not the only one.
Anyone getting replies from Anovos- someone seems to be manning the system as they keep sending out the new product and discount offers emails?

One thing that really works is if you paid by credit card - you can go to VISA or American Express and have them charge Anovos "back" for your purchase. You will have to present a case but we're all pretty iron clad here. One Kylo guy has done it already - successfully.

Anovos has been telling me that all of the Kylo costumes were on this ship that came in (that I can now mention because others have mentioned it here) but the only thing on there were the Rey costumes. All other costumes are still in China.

Again, go through all of their Star Wars products and you will see that Rey is the only thing delivering after this magic ship came in.

And they are only too eager to point out when something has arrived.

Does any one know how many staff Anovos actually have? Have they sacked the customer care team or have they just pulled down the shutters?
 
In the same boat- refund request from beginning of Nov 2018. I don't get responses anymore. Tried emailing the CEO as you can google him! My pre-order was way too old to go to my CC company. Limitation is 180 days. Can't for the life of me find a phone number for them. They're breaching their own terms and conditions and is tantamount to theft.

Customer chat is still there. And they are helpful. But they are being kept in the dark more and more and do not get anything to tell us beyond the officially posted updates. Seriously - they are not allowed to do anything about it and are in a horrible position because Dana Gasser and Joe don't have any shame and are afraid to talk to/ address their customers. So they use CS as a shield.

They will say that some legal dynamic prevents them from talking to us but that is crap. Seriously. I mean - what - are they going to lose their license: THEY'RE NOT EVEN USING IT!!!!!

And funny - they say that Rey Jakku has been shipping for weeks but NO ONE I know has received there's and there are no reports/ reviews I can find anywhere online.

Again, this coming Halloween season will be my 4th without this costume. And no, I bought it because I do NOT HAVE the time to make anything else like I used to.

And people, please post anywhere/ everywhere you can: There are a million ways to apply pressure.
 
I saw that Anovos won't be at Wondercon this weekend but they will be at Celebration. What does the board here think of doing a meet up at the Anovos booth to demand some answers as a group or at least show unity that we're done with accepting their business practices. I won't be at Celebration but I'll be at SDCC so I'd be willing to organize something there. Nothing threatening, just a presence so they can't give us the same answers (check the website)when we come up to their booth as individuals.

I would strongly encourage you to very carefully read the convention policies for Celebration and/or ComicCon before staging any type of public spectacle within the walls of the convention, even a mild-mannered one. I'd also remind you that more often than not, unless it is the owners themselves, people who work a con booth for any company are often hired for that alone and are 1) not in a position to answer the type of questions you are proposing nor 2) are in any position to do anything about your order. What you are proposing is the equivalent of screaming at the teenage order-taker at Chick-fil-a about the company's policy on being closed on Sunday.

Yes still waiting patiently since October for mine. All I got was “finance department will contact you to process your refund” and then went silent.
 
Coming up on 3 months with no word about my refund request. Aside from the incessant junk emails coming about once a week.

My only news is that I talked with my bank/CC company as others suggested, and... they’re apparently going to be no help. Seems when it’s been as long as this has (coming up on two YEARS since ordering in July), they say they can’t help. I may push them on this if nothing miraculously changes in the next month or so.

This is beyond ridiculous. All I can say is: I have dealt with some difficult to deal with companies before, related to things I’ve purchased that did not meet expectations when they arrived. Heck, I have bought a couple things that turned out to be *counterfeit*, and even in those cases, when dealing with customer service people who barely even spoke English (and my Chinese is not good, btw), even then the experience was better than this has been.

Shame on them, and shame on Disney for allowing this nonsense to continue.
 
At Celebration I do agree that any demonstration should be completely polite and civil. Of course. But while these people at the booth may be hired hands, a demonstration will still have an effect. And if they do not understand, any of us should be very kind in explaining the entire situation to them. They will of course contact their Anovos employer who will end up being presented with the situation - which is perfect.

And if we are asked to stop, we can move it outside with boycott signs or something - takes a lot of work since everyone is there to enjoy the event instead of having to deal with this crap.

I am going to wait for my product.

But I will end up saving money because this experience has killed something I used to enjoy.

Next hobby.

Maybe just walk by the booth and say why you will never buy from them again and mention how many potential customers they have lost through word of mouth. If we just do that I'd be happy.
 
Didn't Anovos send out an email saying they had received the Sandtrooper helmets and were about to ship them? Has anyone gotten one yet or a shipping notice???

If so, and they have the foam e11 can someone PM me?

So they have in the past, but in recent con photos of their booth, i have not seen anything. Just items to advertise.

I want that e11 bad.. but don’t want to sign up... I’m hoping to grab one when it says shipping..

Or at a con, maybe wire someone some cash for it and there time, see if I can get it down that way

Like I’ve said a few times I don’t understand, my buddy ordered a proton pack kit. I told him he was a fool, 6 days later the freak’n thing shipped! I couldn’t believe it

I would just sign up for the interest list after preorder and when someone drops out you'll get a chance to get it closer to release. They don't seem to make a lot of extras as back up or replacements for the normal QC attrition.

So Anovos is all over the map lately ... i still haven't got my Jan order, but i know March orders got out already? I would love to get a look at their team and supply chain management ... Total guess but I gather it really is a small team of 7+ people in CA that ship and are CS. Not sure how the executive staff interact with the them.

While I'm frustrated with the issues, they have done right by me when they messed up. I'm rooting for them to turn this around and make their business a success for them and be the go-to for licensed high quality SW stuff.
 
Not sure what the rules are at these events but just a thought. Why doesn’t some get together and compose a fact sheet hand out for Celebration/Con goers to read. Have a flashy yet civil Anovos news flyer stating the issues and facts that is currently being dealt with so many of its customers. Maybe this could be handed out in the lineups or even at the Anovos booth to help others understand the risk when dealing with this company.

I know but back in the day they had armor for sale that wasn’t even released yet. People walked up bought complete kits, while others had to wait for online orders

I’m only hoping, now that you say how far away it is, it’s doubtful the e11 will be there for purchase

My bank also said that I was beyond their time limit of doing anything about it.

I'm basically stuck emailing them with no reply and awaiting my refund request from October for the TFA Han Solo jacket that I ordered back three years ago.
