Another P1 Mask... Silicone And Animatronics Done.

I was working on the mouth and it took me a few trys before I realized I should look at my reference pictures....

I also practiced and experimented on more texturing techniques. I'm not super happy with my results but I'm really happy with what I'm learning.

Thanks, that texure is fairly easy for me to make now. I'm may make a texturing video showing exactly how I have done these textures, keeping in mind I'm no sculptor.

I worked on the back of the dome area getting the shape more to my liking. I just finished getting the dread holes where I want them. Doing that made me realize that I needed to adjust the jaw a little. Though mainly, my progress has all been the back of the head and I'm feeling really good about it.

Apparently, I'm trying to be a little more accurate now then I was in the beginning and also spending way too much time on it. I've been taking too many styling ques from other sculptors.

I'm going to call this one done. The sculpting that is. I'll need to prep it for molding and such but overall I'm reeeeaaaalllly happy with how this came out.

I made a video but I'm not happy with how it came out. I blame my lighting.

Be sure to take loads of pictures of that as well. I really like seeing mold pictures. Even when things go wrong, there is a lot to be learned from them.

Thanks, I'm planning on making a slicone mold first. I have enough silicone but it's a high temp type that I haven't used before. I was going to be using is for other things but it may just work for this. After that I will have to decide exactly how I'm aproaching the mold. There will definately be pictures though.

I just realized that I didn't make any quill holes. Should probably do those.

I'm going to try to get some sort of product out of it but that wasn't my fist goal. So the awnser is probably. Maybe a bust, maybe a mask.

Yes and painting isn't my strong suit either.


This whole build is going to make me make dreads too (oh darn) so that I can have a whole head. I'm going to be moving cautiously with the molding because I'm making two molds and I tend to overcomplicate seamlines. The video is uploading regarding some of the tools and techniques I used during the sculpting. It should be done late this afternoon.
