ANOTHER Iron Man - Mark VII

Hey kids, long time, first time.

I've noticed every second post here is an Iron Man build and I once promised myself I would stay away from that scene... But I finally decided to have a go.

I've had some pepping experience with small models and what have you, but never any fiberglassing and filling.

I'll be regularly updating my blog:

ChillDude22

The name is a reference to Jake and Amir... It's not weird.

Anyway, I'll also post pics and updates here also but less regularly.

Follow this build if you'd like, criticize as you see fit.

I'll eventually end up doing Darkside501st's Mark VII but I started with sharkheads helmet.

So far, credit to sharkhead7854, Dung0beetle, dubean33 and I gather that timecon and Dancin_Fool are over at the 405th?

So, work is going slow as I have / have had company for last week and this week...

Any way here is progress so far:

This is obviously the faceplate... The Body of the helmet is under slow construction in the background ;)

The body is coming along much better and I feel I may end up redoing the faceplate with some different support so it's a little more symmetrical. I seem to struggle with symmetry. Any tips?

thats really cool so far, i'm building the same but i can't download sharkhead7854 helmet for some reason and my parents won't let me get the proper pepakura version because it costs money and stuff so work has stopped. But your s looks pretty great right now mate looking forward to the finished result with arc reactor and all.

HA, I love Jake and Amir...........ACE AND JECELYN AND ACE AND JOCELYN FROM SPACE AND JOCELYN!

The best way to make the faceplate more symmetrical is to fibreglass and bondo the entire helmet as one piece. The way you are doing it now is troublesome because you will more than likely have to redo the whole thing..........

Sorry to rain on your parade, but I would hate to watch you do a ton of more work just for it not to come together the way you want.
