Haven't had much to show round here, but as this is flavour of the month, I though I'd share.
Got me a Sidkit blaster, apologies to any who might be offended, but it's a good kit, and after seeing Karl's photos of the Hero, it didn't take much effort to accurise.
Here's the parts breakdown:
Here's the first slap together of the parts:
With the lights on:
With slide, er, slid:
Now modded with restraining bolt:
And with sliding 'probe':
All the moulded in machine screws have been replaced with the real thing, and any joints are soldered, not glued; I didn't have any trouble with the chamber release, it works fine on mine. I also replaced the metal bullets with real deactivated rounds:
I also added the fifth red LED, and am planning to add the two green LEDs on the sight; does anyone know if they were lit in the film?
Still to do: take out the bit on the side cover under where the slide arm fits, and file down the butt plate to follow the contour of the grips.
This has been fun, and I'm nearly onto the finishing stage, I'm actually going to finish a model.
