ANH Hero DL-44 Discussion - Three ANH Greeblies Found

Re: ANH Hero DL-44 Discussion

I don't think I have any other frame caps from Sitting Target that haven't been posted before (those aren't mine) but I'll go ahead and put them into the thread so we have them for reference. Naturally, if the owner of the pics wishes them deleted I will comply.

I'm not 100% sure, but I believe these stills may have been posted by me a few years ago in that other thread. If I am wrong, please, someone, let me know. I had my HD die on me after I posted them, so please post anything else that may have came from that thread. I remember I got these stills scanned in from an actual film reel trailer for Sitting Target. I took the images supplied to me and altered them, trying to get the most detail out of them and brightening them up a little. Those soundtrack lines on the image side are looking really familiar to me.

THANKS for posting these!! (y)thumbsup I hope they help.

Re: ANH Hero DL-44 Discussion

I thought it was Proprunner that posted them.

It's a shame that old thread wasn't archived. I think I kept all the images but I could always have missed some. I already passed everything to Pat that I could find.

Re: ANH Hero DL-44 Discussion

I really don't remember who it was that posted them originally (Brinn it may very well have been you). This is the other one that I have from that set:

Re: ANH Hero DL-44 Discussion

...wow, those shots are much better than the ones I had.

Still can't see some of the details but nice.

Do you have any other close ups of the mount?

If Brinn posted them earlier, are they available in the archives of the RPF by any chance? (sorry about the HD Brinn)

Re: ANH Hero DL-44 Discussion

Another nice and clear photo, Thanks guys! I'd love to get my hands on a reel of the entire film..:love

I noticed those photos are numbered 3, 6 & 7. Does anyone know if photos 1, 2, 4 & 5 showed anything useful? Was there more than 7?

Re: ANH Hero DL-44 Discussion

The old thread is there but the images are no longer hosted.

It was indeed Proprunner that went through the trailer reel and had the best frames scanned.

Awww... :)Â* Fred, you're a pal - thanks for trying!

Hope it didn't take you too much time, because tomorrow I'm picking up a CD-ROM with 20 super-hi-res scans of 40 frames of film from the "Sitting Target" 35mm teaser reel I bought off a guy on eBay.Â* Each uncompressed JPEG file will be approx. 17 MB!!!

Yes - I went through the reel frame by frame with a loupe and a light box, spent 2 days narrowing down the best shots of the gun & bracket (it was CHOCK FULL OF THEM!!!), and after a little guilty hesitation, I took scissors to the reel and cut out all the marked frames, mounting them in slide holders, and sending them off for digitizing.

Expect some amazing close-ups of the braket tomorrow - people, you WILL be amazed! :D

Re: ANH Hero DL-44 Discussion

It does seem that the scans from the reel are better before being brightened up! :lol

Unfortunately I only have them after they had been brightened up and I already sent them to Pat some time ago.

Re: ANH Hero DL-44 Discussion

Thanks Kurty. I did repost or pass on details you sent. We have used the best materials available to us.

I think Carson nailed it. The only detail not covered is the type of knurling on the thumbscrew. Even in these CUs you cant tell!

Re: ANH Hero DL-44 Discussion

DRAT! I know I had a really big pic of Han that I wish I could get back. It seemed to show some detail on the thumb screw, that it had no curling. I'd like to see it again to make sure. Did anyone save it? I remember I posted it up at 300 and 600DPI.

Re: ANH Hero DL-44 Discussion

I saved pretty much everything. What was this picture of exactly?

I do remember posting a high rez version of this picture. And I think I also posted just the blaster cropped from this pic as well, in 300DPI and 600DPI. Did you happen to grab them?

Re: ANH Hero DL-44 Discussion

I'd love to see that photo in a higher resolution, it might even explain more than just the thumbscrew!

Was the greeblie area any clearer on the higher quality version you had? Because that photo and especially this one below may hold a more solid explanation for a few things.

Re: ANH Hero DL-44 Discussion

I don't have it in anything as big as 300dpi I'm afraid. But it is available at Officialpix.

Re: ANH Hero DL-44 Discussion

Thanks Pat, a couple of those photos I didn't have at all!

I agree that the Hero is definitely the true GK. The Hero is visible in that scene of the film as well. :thumbsup And that photo you posted above from that scene is excellent! A higher quality version might be able to show the greeblie area fairly well.

Re: ANH Hero DL-44 Discussion

I know. That Cantina pic is fairly high res but I tried to enhance it with no luck.

Re: ANH Hero DL-44 Discussion

I have tried to freeze my blueray but cant go frame by frame for some reason on the computer. I will get it someday!

Til then.. a nice screen shot... pun intended.
