Andor/Rogue One binoculars build

Great job, I wouldn’t be surprised if they turn up in season 2, I think filming had wrapped up before they went on auction. And if they don’t still a great prop.

So I found this auction online, Julien's Auctions, and there's this Star Wars Andor binoculars resin prop.

It looks alot like the Matthew Savage Rogue One concept binoculars which I built a couple of years ago. There should be a thread on here somewhere. That one was based on two Chinon Super 8 cameras.

Well this one is based on two Chinon cameras as well, the Chinon 470. It's basically two 470 bodies glued together and your about 75% done. I found two 471 cameras online so now I must wait for them to arrive, which should take forever with the holidays coming up. The 471 is almost identical to the 470 except for one tiny little detail. But it's almost impossible to find.
The sling thingies are the same ones as on the Last Jedi binocs, the Bell&Howell Sportster, right.
So if you guys recognize other stuff please let me know

The boxes on top of the binoculars kinda remind me of the barrels of old revolvers and rifles like this Winchester.

I'm new here. My son gave me a 3D printer recently and I've been making various props.
I’m planning to model and 3D print the macrobinoculars seen in Rogue One (specifically the ones used by the rebels, not the Aldhani style from Andor). I’ve gathered some good reference images, but I haven’t had any luck finding specific dimensions for the prop.


Anyone have some basic dimensions they'd be willing to share - and I can scale the rest.

I’ll be building the model in SketchUp and printing it in parts on my Prusa 3D mini.

Far from it with my lovely lady, she likes to see me build, she wants me to finish jobs before I start another, she’s impatient and wants to see the finished results, my problem is I start a new before I finish the last.

Aha, my mistake. I thought you meant she wants you to finish all kind of chores around the house before you can start with your own projects.
