So being held up in a hotel room cross patching things from multiple computers then hurting your ankle moving out of the way of a giant forklift... You find yourself with time to watch tv - and my shows of choice nowadays are Pawn Stars and American Pickers.
For those not familiar with American Pickers - it's two guys traveling the country looking for old stuff that they can make money on - signs, cars, bicycles - whatever. Anyhow, in this last week's episode - they visited a junkyard and came across this sweatbox just sitting in the debris field. As soon as I saw this thing I was like - waitaminute.... then two people watching with me both chimed in and voiced what I was thinking - is that Captain Pike's preservation box!!?? here are some pics - these things were used to lose weight and were sold from the 50's to the early seventies with different models to choose from - which, if this is the found object used to create Pike's infamous black box, it would have to have been modified or a different model - sure is close though.
