Amazon's Lord of the Rings (tv series)

I have suspicions that it might be Tom Bombadil, but he seems far too tall.

IIRC, the Five Wizards did not appear in Middle Earth until the start of the Third Age.

Alatar and Pallando, the Blue Wizards, came to Middle Earth during the Second Age, but they headed East. So it still won't make sense if the Stranger turned out to be one of them.

There's also speculation that he's a Balrog but I think that would be worse, as all the remaining Balrogs went deep into the earth after the War of Wrath.

Ah, yes, I forgot. But didn't they arrive together? Or maybe I just assumed they did...

correct. Supposedly after doing a bit of digging, according to the appendices, the original 3 (Gandalf, Saruman and Rhadghast) were sent to middle earth at the start of the third age and arrived by boat from the Grey Havens

So unless they ignored that timeline it is definitely not Gandalf.

And as that one speculation article suggest, it would be dumb for Sauron to herald his return via a meteor screaming across the sky for all to see when he is trying to be on the down low :D

Best bets are one of the "Blue Wizards", Tilion or Tom Bombadil

The Tilion thing is intriguing as he was described in a poem as falling from the sky in a meteor

Or could just be a new character all together

Yup i saw that too, definitely it.

Was surprised we didnt get any Harfoots this episode.

I'm not sure if Narsil being in that scene is meant to be an easter egg, but it definitely goes against the lore. Both Narsil and the Ring of Barahir are heirlooms in the family line of the Lords of Andunié. At the time the show is supposed to take place, Elendil is already the Lord of Andunié and Narsil should already be in his possession, not Tar-Palantir's.

That whole "there's a tempest in me!" scene is cringeworthy. Galadriel gets more and more insufferable with each episode. It's hard to root for her tbh.

Not really much of a spoiler, but I "will keep it secret. keep it safe" since some may consider it spoilery

While I have not watched the scene yet, it's funny because for me she always came across as someone very nice on the outside, but who could be very cold and had a lot of pent up fury. Like god forbid you cross her or make her angry. Almost a David Banner/Hulk type vibe.

really loved the last few episodes. Hope we start getting some answers soon though, weve got like 4 people who we dont know the identity of. Though Adar seems to have confirmed hes not Sauron.

Halbrand kind of dropped some dialogue making himself kinda sound like Sauron in the previous episode.
Last week I was 100% on the “Halbrand is Sauron” train.

This week I’m back to 50:50.

That’s one thing I think they’re doing exceptionally well is keeping you guessing.

The Stranger is Sauron. Halbrand is Sauron. Adar is Sauron.

The one thing that kind of keeps me on the Halbrand is Sauron group is that he’s never told us who he is. We’ve been told who he is by other characters, but he hasn’t actually said that.

Much like this week when Adar knocks that old man down, he doesn’t say he is not Sauron…instead, he just doesn’t say anything.

I’m still really liking how they’re building this. It’s like a slow, steady crescendo that we know is going to explode in war. I think the pacing has been excellent after the first episode, and it’s honestly the only show I’m looking forward to every week right now.

As a few side notes…the Numenor soldier armor was awesome. Very, very cool looking.

Durin and Elrond are great together. I love how they’re adding a bit of lighthearted humor through their friendship.

Galadriel fighting with the soldiers was pretty good. I liked how she showcased how quickness can overcome strength.

Stranger gave off some pretty sinister vibes this week, after giving us a few weeks of thinking he was certainly a good guy.

Apparently, even at 90 million an episode, they still can't get enough extras and have to resort to cut 'n paste.

OR... this is finally the clinching proof for everyone who's speculated over the years that Middle Earth exists in the Matrix.
