Amazing Spiderman Zentai Suit and Raimi Suit -- Feet finished pg. 4

Re: Amazing Spiderman Zentai Suit - Raimi Suit Added!

P.s., here's my current progress on the shoes. I'm taking it slow and finishing it area by area, don't want it to fall apart. Still need to do the back and the very top of the toe area. I'm thinking the toe area might be last:

looks good going to aim for a similar thing

what have you stuffed it with ? I assumed the glue would set relatively fast. I still need to find glue too, actually found some shoe goo but debating that or a quick grip glue that sets faster

as for the backpack, yeah its cool but im not so great on the making side of things, even something like that >.>

I stuffed a pair of socks to the size of the aqua shoes. It does set relatively fast, but that doesn't mean it's completely dry. The glue I'm using sets within maybe 30 minutes but the box says it's not completely dry for 24-48 hours.

I don't really care about setting time as long as the glue is strong.

That's unfortunate :( it probably really wouldn't be hard at all! You could just recover one of those draw-string bags in string/rope.

yeah the shoe goo sounds about the same as far as setting/drying time goes.

i may try it....still waiting on the suit but shouldnt be to long now. I suppose another alternative is even just covering the bum bag/fanny pack/hip bag (whatever you know them as) in string too. I dont have a glue gun /hot glue though and that'd likely be the best option, perhaps another type of glue would work ok.

getting frustrated with trying to find aqua shoes in the right colour. The ones ive found with toe/heel bit, have some blue trim that'd be left over.

Yeah, look for angelus leather paints, those would probably work very well.

Re: Amazing Spiderman Zentai Suit - Raimi Suit Added!

Small update: I just sewed the top edge by the toes for extra support. Now working on spot gluing anything that is left. Should be done very soon!

Looking good hope mine turns out ok when I try the shoes :/

Re: Amazing Spiderman Zentai Suit - Raimi Suit Added!

yeah they dont look like they'll be going anywhere. As long as its not TOO stiff so that the actual bend of your foot puts to much strain on where its attached.

my aqua shoes just arrived, i went with a size down but theres still some space near my toes....should be ok with thick socks though. Will try cut them up over the weekend then its shoe goo time

They're not stiff at all. I still have the stuffed socks inside of them while I'm finishing them if that's what you were talking about.

Re: Amazing Spiderman Zentai Suit - Raimi Suit Added!

Finally finished with the feet. Very happy with how they turned out. They certainly don't feel like they'll be falling apart any time soon :) Took a few more pics of the suit too. I think my next mod will be completing the webbing on the neck of the suit so it isn't just plain fabric.

If your planing on puff painting ya suit just run the web up the neck that way it's what I've done
I actually still haven't convinced myself that I want to puff paint it. I kinda dig it without the puff paint and I feel that there is a very high risk of having it look to messy. Might just used a fabric sharpie for now until I make that decision.

I like mine puffy lol it actually gives good grip on the hands, if you take your time it's a easy process after halloween am going to buy a print from here and do a cartoon style spiderman

Yeah, I know it CAN look great, but the other issue that comes to mind when I see people puff painting the whole suit is that puff paint has a tendency to crack with age/use; so the hexagon patterns especially that have been puffy-painted will most like crack and look awful after a little while.

If anything, I might just do the lens frames and the spiders. Just to give them some texture

That looks really good. Because it's not the exact same movie quality suit, your shows probably shouldn't look like the dirt dogs everyone's been putting on their TASM suits.

I agree the neck have the black webbing. Puff painting it would give it a good texture, but you'd have to find a way to make it work with this zentai suit idea. Regardless, it looks great. Nice job!
