Amazing Spider Man 2 Costume WIP

Hey guys I bought a pattern file of the Amazing Spiderman 2 costume which is currently being printed through Fabric on Demand. I am going to use Tulip metallic black paint for the webbing and navy blue slick for the brick pattern. I have a pattern with a spare mask which I will put together first as a test as I am thinking of sewing it myself. Hoping to get it done for April when the new movie comes out. Any ideas on what I should use for the front and back spiders (Latex, silicone, Puffy paint) and also where could I get some webshooters and what shoes should I use

What I normally do for my spiders is first lay down an outline with puffpaint. Then I mix up some pigmented silicone, put it in an applicator bottle, and put it inside the "walls" that I built up with the puff paint. I used Dragonskin for my spiders and my local supply store had their own brand of pigmentation.

What do you mean by pigmented silicone? pigment as in colour?

did you need a thickener for that and was it sticky when it has dried? I want it to look like either a matte finish for the front and glossy on the back. like the movie suit
No thickener, but I had to make a mold to cast it in, it's the only way to have a level surface and hard edges. It's a matte finish, and not sticky.

That is great luna, well done mate.
Thank you!

What did you use to cast it in? im thinking of getting some foam board and drawing the spider out on that, carefully cutting it out and then laying it on my desk doing it that way. you think that will work?

Latex air-cures when the moisture evaporates, so it might kinda work if your desk surface is porous and absorbent. If it's not, then you'd just end up with a gummy mess on your table.
What I did for mine was to go to home depot and pick up an unglazed ceramic paving tile, cut the spider shape out of craft foam, seal the edges with electrical tape, and then cast the latex in the makeshift mold overnight.

After lots of trimming...
