The Lightyear Hyperspeed series ships have holes that were to be filled with a cannon insert-but a stand with a tab could be made-or maybe a winged Estes type First Stage with Buzz's starfighter as a Buran-the tab covered by a fin/intake...etc. There is a whole second cockpit to the Armadillo that is clear protective plastic.
