Avatar benefited from being less a film and more a visual event that everyone felt compelled to see regardless of the actual story. And that understandable. Titanic did so well because of a huge turnout of women to see the film. Titanic box office also includes re-releases, as does Avatar's, and even a 3D conversion release that even I went to see. TFA will likely see a re-release in fall 2017 before Ep. 8 which should put it online or ahead of Titanic, a testimony to its appeal to a female audience. That's why TFA has eclipsed films like Avengers and Jurrasic World as those failed to attract as strong a female auduence. And following Variety and Box Office mojo, they expert qualify TFA's weekly numbers and no where is there talk of poor word of mouth or a percipitous or unusual decline in weekly numbers. On the contrary considering the number of screens, TFA's performance was noted for its legs and strength.
Here are the actual daily numbers showing percentage changes to better inform. You keep stating things as fact when they are not, your "analysis" is fundamentally incorrect.
