Almost Human

With all the things it had working against it (episodes shown out of order, HORRIBLE time slot) I'm surprised it had the ratings and viewers that it did.

I really like this show. The characters seem to have very good chemistry. Really hope it gets picked up again.

Question:

Did it end on a cliffhanger or with a ton of unresolved questions, or did the season basically form a closed arc?

I'll wait until I see a Fox press release or they have their 2014 fall line up announcement. When I did a search for this every article seemed to quote someone else's article.

The last episode kinda referenced the first episode, so there was a sense of completion. If you are wondering if you should watch it, I would say yes. I will definitely be purchasing it on bluray and enjoying the episodes in the correct order.

I wish someone else could pick it up. Stupid FOX.

I did a quick bit of research, and I gather that there wasn't really much of a thru-story other than something with the cop's dad, which did resolve. Outside of that, it was (from what I heard) mostly one-off episodes that didn't really connect to each other, and were more "crime/monster of the week" style episodes in an interesting setting. I'd be up for watching that at some point, as sort of a "filler while I wait for another show to come back on" bit of entertainment.

On the upside, I guess this frees Karl Urban up for Dredd 2 if that ever happens...

'Almost Human' Fans Rage to Save Cancelled Show - TheWrap

“Firefly, Terra Nova and now Almost Human… Third well made sci-fi show in recent memory that they cancelled.”

“Snuffing Almost Human makes no sense. It's 4th highest-rated new drama of the season behind Blacklist, Sleepy/Resurrection & S.H.I.E.L.D.”

“Almost Human out-rated 30 of the other 39 new series introduced in 2013-14."

A petition has been posted on Change.org asking the Syfy channel to pick up the series.

I'm just surprised they didn't even give it the Friday death slot for a season.

It's too bad ABC wouldn't pick it up; it might go good with SHIELD?

:facepalm

Television networks... I will never, ever understand them. Unbelievable.

If it is good = CANCEL IT!!!
If it's a crap reality show = Let it suck! But for God's sake, keep it on the air.
If it's a damn soap = spew that crap for decades!

:wacko

Was thinking the EXACT same thing. Watch Honey Boo Boo get a spinoff, watch millions of dollars invested into entertainment about Americans degrading themselves and each other, but don't you dare waste a cent on something creative that doesn't turn a profit instantly. The problem is I do understand them, it's all about money, always has been, always will be, and the lowest common denominator will always prevail.

and as always: sucks to be that guy/gal that discovers this amazing show(any show really) later on dvd/bluray and they go: "wow I just finished watching season one and this show is brilliant. I checked for season two on the net but I couldn't find it. Do you know when it's coming out?".

Like for example back in 2005, when I saw this trailer for this new sci-fi film. It had some hilarious lines of dialogue, which not only made me laugh non-stop for 10 minutes. But also made me watch the trailer over and over. That was the trailer for Serenity. After about a year or so when I finally saw the film I fell in love with it and after I saw it I found there was a tv show.... :facepalm 14 episodes *sigh* :facepalm had I been in charge Firefly would not have gotten 14 episodes, but more like 14 seasons.
