All 6 Mighty Morphin power rangers for a Vinilla Ice concert! (Pic Heavy)

Howdy y'all! I havent posted a thread here in too long!
I'm tackling all 6 costumes from mighty morphin power rangers that I was tasked to do for this crazy event in Dallas Called "Jareds Epic Party"

Vinilla Ice, Young MC, and Humpty Hump are just a few of the artist performing. it was started to have vinilla ice perform with the ninja turtles on stage again and it turned into a crazy80s-90scosplaynerfgunwarmoviecarpalozza haha.

Originally my friend and I were going to just go as the Green and Black ranger but I met Jared the guy who is running the event and told him and he immediately said I want all 6 to be there! so he commissioned it and its happening

Alright starting with Green, Red, and Blue Ranger kits from Eric0101. His kits are stunt casted and from what I understand are pulled from the mold of the original stunt helmets that were used in stage shows and official power ranger events. they are amazing kits and have been a childhood dream come true to work with

I used a Dremel to cut the helmets in half and to cut the visor out. I was so tempted to drill the holes for a stunt visor but I really wanted a real visor

The Black ranger helmet here I bought off ebay and its really inaccurate, I've since bought a kit from Affect FX thats in the mail and looks much more accurate and im on the kit list for Eric0101s Hero Mammoth kit that is from the screen used mold

And so we begin the tedious paint jobs!

After touching them up and pin striping them by hand its time for clear gloss

Then motorcycle visors with tint added

I'll take pics of the innner workings tomorrow, elastic straps on the top and these great thin and sturdy center release buckles on the in side to hold it together
and three down three to go!

Id steer clear of affectfx, they are recasting aniki and eric sculpts. his green on ebay is an aniki recast. Nice job on the paint though I have an eric aswell, who are you looking at for suits


also the green from eric101 is a resculpt from aniki not a stunt, he had permission from aniki to do it.
that would be the holy grail of all helmets to get would be a hero or stunt dragon ranger. have you seen matt's green with the bubble visor really nice sculpt aswell

Yikes thats disappointing to hear, so not cool to recast without permission, especially since Aniki is his own sculpt not an original screen used sculpt. I'll make sure to give credit to Aniki and point people his way when they ask about the helmet im getting.

007Halu would be ideal and I'm definitely going to order a black suit from him in the future for myself, but he doesnt work with our commission budget so colorsuits are the best option we seem to have.

colorsuits is another person to watch out for as they sell stolen spiderman patterns from gunhead(on the rpf) and a few others,
Have you been in contact with little dragon and or ravseams? they make awesome 4 way stretch suits for zyu's. little dragons about 200.00 a suit and he has red,blue,green,and black.

what dragon shield you aiming for?

if you haven't found one I would go with maniac
he sells three different variants straight shoulder(american) curved (original zyu) (full curved custom)

Man thanks for letting me know I dont like to support these guys who steal others hard work.

I'm making one out of EVA foam so more like the japanese footage, I think I want to spray adhesive gold stretchy fabric on it like I've seen some do on rangerboard

If I could re buy mine I would have gone with the same, the zyu curved is much more awesome looking. there might be some base templates online floating around for the shield

for the cuffs you could easily make them using leather and bind your own diamonds like jakemoore does, then buy the cheaper plain white boots. very excited to see your progress

Man I LOVE this and EXCELLENT job! Can you please show a step by step guide on how to paint a ranger helmet cast? Your pics gave me a big hint on how to do it but a thread on carefully explaining how to paint these babies would be wonderful!

I will always love the rangers. Too bad Rangerboard sometimes is either a clusterf-- or hostile. Anyway, I will be yellow. One day. I will.

So the kit is made of what? I've been curious what the material is and if it's just like 3d printed or purchased premade? Where do I get one XD they're so awesome

If those kits are from Eric 0101 then they are made of fiberglass. They are not 3D printed but casted off of stunt helmets or hand sculpts. There are several Helmet makers out there but you have to be careful because many of them re cast other people's work and "that ain't cool". Pm me if you want more info.
