Hey folks,

Only in the past few days have i been able to build up time away from work and personal issues. Professionally, at the yard, we have put together an incredibly interesting yacht, mostly on the up, but personally it has been a very challenging time, mostly on the downside of things.

It's been quite a few months since i actively posted on the forum, and i apologize to my clients whom we're left a bit in the cold regarding the APC's. Not my intention to do so.

Jock, i cannot imagine what you and your loved ones are going through. I'm very sorry for your house, and i hope your situation improves rapidly. I'll PM you within 24 hours to set things straight.

Ray22, i love the enthusiasm you put into your builds, but i cannot appreciate some of your posts. More than once have you promoted your own APC kit, here in my thread. I cannot imagine you're here for the build all the time, but also at times to stir up things a bit in your favour. And mentioning one shouldn't take prepayments for kits, that's beating a long dead horse. I haven't taken funds for a long time. I will never ever take funds for a product unless in hand, and ready to ship.

Oh, and for those that have repeatedly asked to be on a list, or order an APC from me. For quite a while i've said 'no', or 'maybe in the future', but it is clear for me now, and i can definitely say that i will not be taking any orders. Ever.

As for the APC's. I've been gradually unpacking all the parts and molds and bits and pieces i made. My mind is clearer now on the project, and i see i wanted to create something that could have gone on forever. Not to mention i suffer from 'wishful thinking' when it comes to planning things in the spare time.

I'll post some nice pics within the next two weeks, and i'll do my best to wrap things up before the new year, which is a very very clear deadline.

Hey Wasili listen I respect your skills as a builder and yes I have checked in time to time see your build to see if you ever made a complete model and painted one, curious like everyone else , and I tell people all the time and it's not directed at you but to anyone about taking prepaid money and not getting any product for months or years. I don't have to promote my kit on your thread I have been selling them for a year now as I'm casting two kits today.

Dear Wasili,

We are now almost at the end of February and we have not seen (any) updates???

I appreciate the work that goes into such a project as i did one myself. So i know it takes time alot of time especially the work you have put into this. As a fully paid buyer at the top of your list i am starting to feel this will never end??? Please bring us whom have paid up to speed on when we will actually get our kits?

But alas, i'm being laid off from work soon, which was kinda ****e to hear, and took a while to work my mind around on. It does mean i'll be having a hell of a lot more time on hand to tie up loose ends.

Give me a few days to get my bearings, and i'll give a general update.

Sounds like an excellent turn of events - though I'm not in line to buy, were I in your position Wasili, I'd consider this a significant break and a positive turn of events given that people do so want to buy one of these from you. An excellent opportunity to turn a bad situation into a good one.

Although shocked at first that i got laid off, i took the best of it, and am burning full steam ahead on setting up new shop, not to mention a small in betweener project to get funds for the regular monthlies. This has been notified to all paid customers, by email and PM, and that the APC will recommence in a few weeks.

Time to finish up......

I have read the whole thread, Wasili you are a terrible businessman however your skills as model maker have left me enthused. Fantastic work I too hope you get to finish this.

Hope you do get to finish this build. I have been in the position of waiting for an item of kit, it was a bespoke camera handbuilt to my specs, waited two years for it not to arrive. Self discipline on my part stopped me from going postal on the forums. Anything you say on the forums is always amplified on the emotion scale. The designer and seller of the camera still remain close friends. I support them with their efforts. I went into the project with a post it note on my computer Buyer Beware.


Looking forward to seeing this out in the wild, so please dont give up seriously dont give up on this. Hope you get a job. If you finish this model send me a hi res studio quality photo, I will do a matte painting of it in its setting. Pro Bono. All you have to is finish it, and you will get a Hollywood 2d matte painting of it. How is that for incentive.

Thanx for your post. Just so you know, and as all my clients know, i haven't given up on this at all. And i've stopped doing advancepayments ages ago. For new projects people pay when their stuff is ready to ship. I have enough stress in my life, just like any other member here, and i don't need more. In a month i'm taking the APC's off the shelf and will finish them. When there's something new to post, i will.

I have a new job as a cnc operator/set builder and it starts on monday.

I love this sort of scratch build but often wonder how you plan it out. The computer modelling at the start - does that then give you all the sizes of the internal bracing or is that worked out as you go?
