They're having some kind of sweepstakes for Syndicate. The prize list includes Jacob's coat, and they have it quoted as a "$600 value." So that's the best we have to go on for now.
Finally got some pictures of my finished coat and waistcoat:
The coat is indeed made of herringbone wool, but that pattern's pretty faint so you can only see it in the closeups with flash.
Also, Ubiworkshop's released finished images of their Jacob coat, and, well...
Let's just say I'm very glad I decided to make my own. $530 for what they've come up with is ridiculous. If it were perfectly accurate, I could understand, but this... this looks like something I'd see for $150 on a sketchy cosplay site from China and still think is overpriced. It looks like they didn't even try with the hood, and the leather parts look really cheap. If the materials were better (which they might be since this could still be a prototype) it would be a decent looking coat, but this is horribly inaccurate.
Volante Design's, on the other hand, is beautiful. I'd gladly drop $1500 on it even after having made my own if only I had that much discretionary income.
He's made a pretty good replica and he posted pictures of the pattern he used. I'll be basing my pattern off of his, but I'm expecting to have to make a few changes.
