A captain's chair from Wal Mart?

I checked the one on Emerson near Beech Grove and the one on Emerson near Sam's Club on the south east side.
There's one more on US31 I wanna' look at and another on the east side near work. I don't want to go nuts looking for this $30 chair. I may end up just having one ordered to my local store. i don't have to pay shipping that way.

You might be thinking of the Defiant seat- It's made from a older Recaro custom seat and there's a few on eBay now. You'll recognize it when you see it.

It's made from one of these:
Recaro LX, found in many VW's and BMWs and Alfas in the 80's. I got this one for $20 at Ecology Auto wrecking, and mounted it on an office chair frame.

Come to think of it, quite a few star trek chairs were made from this one, recovered in leather or vinyl in various colors. Defiant, various runabouts, Voyager, 1701-E, some klingon ships... I saw it all over the place and just thought, man - I wonder how many 1988 VW GTI's gave their lives so this set could have those recaro seats?

I was there yesterday and they had grey chairs like this that looked nicer than the Walmart one. These were all grey vinyl, not the two-tone like Walmart. They had a ton of them and they were marked down 30% off (around $30). They were near the seasonal school supplies.

Yeah that is a cool one. I saw it a Meijers last night for $79, but I am looking for CHEAP on this project.
But as always with this hobby, you always spend more than expected.:unsure
Got my chair today. The box it was delivered to the store in was a little beat up so I took some scans. You'll be happy to know that the structural ingtegrity of the chair is sound and will require no subsidiary force fields.
The chair is a little narrow, so I may make some black vinyl cushions to set in the chair on either side of the seat so it looks like part of the seat.
It also looks a little short, but I think it'll do for my home-made captain's chair
