What a lovely build log!

I was wondering what conclusion you came to as far as tapping the resin goes. Im about to start my own Tiptop build and while I wait for it to show up, I'd like to start purchasing tools and things.

I hear a "gun tap" or spiral tap is ideal for resins and acrylic. Im just worried about cracking as I've never tapped resin before. I do have some failed parts I can test out techniques on, but I am just curious as to which solution you went with.

defektedtoy I’m a beginner, so there are more experienced members here that know the details and pitfalls. I just used the only tapping kit I had (borrowed and ancient, probably a spiral tap) and had a go.

All I can say is, the Tip Top kit had all the required holes, ready for tapping. I took it slowly and never encountered any problems. I read that you shouldn’t re-tap the same thread over and over, but I often found I had to go back and tap further, again without any issues or problems.

There was one problem, but that was at the very edge of the frame, where the thread ended up too close the edge and exposed a bit. I covered the error with some Mr Color’s Mr Putty, re-sanded the edge and it was fine.
