Hi RPF,

so I've been building a X-Wing model out of foam core and various bits and bobs since last August, and i'ts finally complete :). The first wing is painted, now it's only a matter of painting everything else...

Sorry about the pics quality, my current phone's a bit crappy :/

Beautiful.
Out of curiosity is this in scale to any line of figure?
And can it be broken down (in case you wanted to move it to another room/area)?
Regardless, that is amazing. Love the cockpit detail also.
Now you just need to start your 20 foot Falcon...I kid.

Nope, no particular scale for this build. Actually, I started the project with the thrusters, simply sticking two Ice-Tea cans together, and it kinda went up from there. Scaling-wise, I guess it's around the 1/8th mark, but it's a rough estimate

It can be broken down, each wing fits in the fuselage and can be removed (though I made the mistake of making the thrusters and lasers NOT removable : turns out it's hard to paint a wing with all those things sticking out and getting caught everywhere...). The canopy isn't glued yet, and each cockpit part is removable in order to be easier to paint.

Been working on a wing this weekend, and the base layers are finished. I brushed in some silver to make it lighter and shinier, and tomorrow it's time for the trusty shoepolish to work its magic again :)

(You'll notice that I took some "liberties" with a lot of stuff (greebling, panel lines, etc.) but since the model is quite big, I didn't want it to have flat, undetailed planes, so I chalked it up to artistic licence and had fun)
