3rd lighted galactica --DONE--

Hi ,I just sold my lighted galactica to someone, so I'm doing another one with more mods and extra's than the last two. On this one i will light it like the 1st but I'm fixing the head level issue and the issue with the main body by the platting and some of the plating on the head piece. It will also have the new PE set from PGMS (including the garage pieces) and a full set of decals from acreation ribs and all. This is so progress.

I've got an idea on how you can light it without the light shining through the inside of the model. You may want to experiment to see if it really works, but you may want to try black construction paper. Basically, by doing so, I think it'll make sure the light shines from where you want it to and not shine through the plastic. Of course, this is just an idea, and I figured it may be something that might help.

Or you can cover the inside with aluminum foil. That will block out any light shining throught the model.

Worked on the head piece today got all the windows drilled in the center piece. will have to prime and paint so i don't mess up the backing for the windows later.

I have been thinking about how to fix the hull plating issue on the kit without resculpting the model, but haven't come up with anything, I will be interested to see how yours comes out.

Got the lights in the head done, but got more work to do on the rest of it.

Worked on the antennas on the nose today ,as a lot of you Know its totally missing the lower big antenna so i made my own, than i added all the rest of the antennas to the lower nose piece. I also redid from scratch the side armor pieces on both sides i can live with the top armor plates although there not what they are supposed to be.

Painted the head piece and weathered it today and started the light box's for the red lights in the garages ,don't no how far I'm going on this because i plan to put in the new photo etch pieces for the garage area's being made for this by PGMS and there not quite ready yet.

Today's progress -completed the light box's on one of the garages , and started the other. Painted the lower main body.

Worked on the other garage section and painted the bottom section and attached the lower head piece to it. Also started work on the flight pods,on the other ones iv done i didn't like the way the decal sat on the hanger bay floor -(you can see the line made by the piece inside' so I'm fixing that by making a one piece floor. I also painted the top half.

Got the head glued to the main body and painted and weathered. I also got the floors ready for the landing bays and got the lights ready to install in the garage sections.

Its been couple day since i posted some pictures so here's a update, 1st i redid the armor on the sides of the head. I also extended the armor on the top to cover the gap between the head and main body,worked on the garages and got the lights for them all glued in and ready for the PE pieces,Lastly i started the landing bays and got the floors installed.

Worked on the landing bay lighting and than the upper engines ,did a little more detail to them as well.

Got a lot done on it today, worked on the lower engines, weathered and glued the upper engines on, some work on the bays (cant do any more until i get my PE set), and the rear center engine light section.

added some of my own detail that is missing.

One decal is a little messed up but it don't matter because its the pod with the windows in it see you wont see it any way.
